You would have people selling stuff on the AH based on their appearance rather than their actual item level, stats and rarity. Rarity alone already drives up the prices of certain items, so we do not need transmogrification inordinately affecting AH prices as well.
Not if the looks were purchased from a vendor as just another gold sink. Add another gold sink to actually tmog it and bam.
Doesnt effect anything any of you guys are saying.
Other than the "story" my appearance shows. Tactical advantage is more like it but I digress.
Want to know my in game story? Say hello and ask. I'll tell you and ask you yours.
Instead of stalking from a distance being jealous of my leet gear.
Oh look that sounds like community. Oh and look what else tmog encourages socializing.
Sounds kinda like a real RPG feature with vanilla like community/socialization baked in.
Thought those 3 things were the "core" vanilla principles?
That's what I keep hearing anyways. /shrug
As long as the all purchasable T-mog gear is red and white stripes with a big bullzeye on the back I have no problem with it. :)
I'll give you all kinds of "socializing".
The AH argument is a stupid one. It’s supply and demand either way, and even that is throttled by the in game available coin.
With a few ground rules like per character transmog(not account wide)
And you must loot the item to tmog it, I see no issue with this at all.
It’s funny how everyone complaining about it is transmogged themselves. Irony and stupidity at its fineat.

What does me being transmogged have to do with anything? Just because I use transmog in Legion doesn't mean I want it in Vanilla.
It was never in Vanilla, and transmog reduces that uniqueness of having amazing gear because anyone can look cool. I think that's a bad thing when Vanilla had a big importance towards the gear of your character.
There's also the fact that you couldn't see someone's HP in Vanilla, and people can disguise how geared they really are by using transmog. It'd be lame to have someone who appears to be using greens/blues in PvP, but are actually in T3.

Red and black and you have a deal! For the horde!
I "socialize" back.
I'll bring marshmallows. :)

Deal ! See you on the battlefield :)

My tmog isn't available in retail anymore. I really am a special snowflake :) However retail is a completely different game. I could see Tmog not being a big deal on PVE servers (except for the need to ninja fashion loot) but it's a big deal leveling up on PVP servers.
Your second point only proves to exacerbate the ninja looting issue with tmogs in vanilla.

I say no to transmog simply because of the negative effect on an already horrid economy.
Do you think it would it make a vanilla AH worse? How come?
it doesn't just effect the economy though (and it does hurt it by altering item value)
The change in item value changes gold farming locations, which can result in a change in the leveling experience as high level players would farm cool looking low level gear (those few pieces) which can disrupt the ganking aspect of vanilla wow as well, because instead of the occasional over leveled ganker you have hordes of them farming for transmogs drops, which destorys some quests for being doable as they are on farm to drop that transmogs gear by max level players, and the zone is in an endless conflict.
So it really doesn't just hurt the economy.
This is why I say transmogs in classic is a bad idea
transmog in classic is a terrible idea. the economy being one thing and the knowing what your opposition is wearing to get a good feel for their capability is another.
not to mention it wasnt in vanilla and shouldnt be in classic as a result.
please quit posting this garbage.
How can you "keep in" something that was never there?
It was never in Vanilla, and transmog reduces that uniqueness of having amazing gear because anyone can look cool.
Um, how? You can't mog "up", only "down".
Big Wall of NO CHANGES!!!!!!!
I would have been in favor if Blizzard had actually implemented a GOOD wardrobe system in the first place.
"Transmogrification" is just plain garbage the way they did it.

It's literally the system we've been asking for since vanilla.
It's probably the best change ever put into the game and is one of the only things that wouldn't change how the community interacts with one another, the way a built in quest helper, or LFG system might. Simply adds a little fun and flavor to your character.
No this is a terrible idea and might wanna say ADD this to vanilla because it never was part and never should be
No transmog thanks. I like my ugly mug the way it is.

You can't forget the ones wearing tier gear and wanting to look like they are wearing greens hoping to catch players with their pants down.
Any good player would know that a level 60 won't show up in BGs with greens.
Anybody that PVPs knows that you have to start from somewhere. You don't just show up at your first Battleground in full PVP gear set and weapons. I hope you are not one of those players that ridiculed people in the starting cave in Alterac Valley over their gear.

No, but I knew enough to gear up before I went in there.

What is this "we" garbage? I never once asked for it. I used outfitter and bag slots for "transmog". Most, if not all, of the gear in my current appearance is still in my bags somewhere (not sure about the shoulders but Bene and the T2 is there).
