Can we get rid of Slice And Dice?

SnD was removed during Legion and BfA, and it was GREAT. Getting it back during Shadowlands was not a good thing. And now we see Dragonflight has a nerfed version of Cut To The Chase that requires a 2 point talent to even unlock. Ugh. Just get rid of Slice and Dice please.

They should have added prep back in instead (the 5 min cd)

They made Blade Flurry feel a lot better just by adding a direct damage component at the beginning. Maybe SnD could have that – add a small AoE or ST attack when you press it.

combine slice and dice with roll the bones. you get attack speed + buffs. obliviously tweak the buffs

I love SnD. I was excited when it came back. For some reason I’m just a sucker for stuff that makes you attack faster. I dunno what it is, it just makes me happy. I love SnD + Troll racial and watching how fast I attack. I’m weird.

No ty. Id still hate it and i think most others would feel the same. Like great, now the ability sin presses (hopefully) once in a fight has damage attached and sub and outlaw have to keep consider whether or not you should buff yourself before pressing it.

Thats fair. It just sucks to press.

You mean, turn SnD into a cooldown? Something you actually have to think about. That’s a great idea.

See Blizzard, it’s not hard to come up with new ideas.

I can agree with that.

I took a long break from rogue so I don’t know about all the options that existed through the years, but it absolutely could be made into some sort of effect that triggered under certain conditions instead of a button.

Increase damage to other things and get rid of that nonsense so “Melee” isnt rogues top damaging ability. so lame.

Yeah I think it should it be removed to automatic. Having to maintain something that is essentially mandatory just sounds like forced complexity.

It’s no different than just having a button that says “+20% dps” and forcing you to remember to press it every time it lights up.

You’re thinking about Hunger for Blood. Been there done that. No thanks.

Blade Flurry does more than attack speed increases, though, since it cleaves your attacks off of one target.

However, your SnD suggestion isn’t a bad start, but maybe take it further. Turn SnD into an actual cooldown without the expectation of 100% uptime, and make it do something more interesting.

personally I like slice and dice in the same way I like sprint. you can move at normal speed or you can perform an action to increase your speed.

I think maybe some of you are just forgetting what it feels like to attack slow and why we should be able to buff our attack speed.

combo points are a lot easier to get now than when the ability was designed, when you had to choose between evsicerate or snd because it took 30 seconds to get 5cp. maybe it should be turned into a 30s cd with a 30s duration for all of you naysayers
edit: scratch that because then combo points would just be pointless

The skill is called “Slice and Dice”. I’d love to see a multi hit attack to it that also gave the attack speed increase increase as a bonus. That way it would feel good to press and fun. (Of course give it a cd)
I think it be cool if it had a similar animation to rampage that warriors have combined with mutilate.

I forget which game it was but one of them had this weird system where they made every ability do damage and balanced them around all having cooldowns, but they made all of them basically do the same damage so all you had to do for optimal dps was just activate them on your hotbar in whatever order you wanted then play whack-a-mole when they lit up as they came off of cooldown. I really don’t like that system and I would like there to be choice in my actions. Is the mob low hp? Use a direct damage ability instead of a bleed. Does the mob have high armor? Consider using a poison instead of a physical attack.
Edit: oh you know what I think it was Lost Ark

honestly, bake slice n dice into roll the bones. change the rtb proccs a little.
Roll the bones: 25 energy, 45 second cd - Roll the dice providing Slice and Dice and a random combat enhancement for 30 seconds ( + talent modifiers, can even keep the ones available now on the DF talent tree).
call it a day, slice n dice is removed as a separate ability, roll the bones becomes more consistent.

Ok. But the other specs.

on your own there, captain.

I don’t get why having to keep up a buff on every other class isn’t a problem but slice and dice is. I like it personally.

I don’t think anyone is complaining of what it is/does, I think the complaint is the need to HAVE to spend cp’s on it. Why not give warriors a 20% haste buff that costs 100 rage… /smh
