Can we get more LGBT couples in game?

You’re right.

But while they’re having several girlfriends a row they would at least show some attraction to men if they are also attracted to men.

His personality did most of the talking for him. Flynns the typical charming rogue in dnd played by someone that basically has them flirt with ANYTHING.

The way he acted around Shaw in that one mission they were in showed he wasn’t really drawn away.

And not every bisexual has to scream it from the roof tops. Quite a lot of bisexuals tend to be a little shy in real life about admitting it just because bisexuality is still “odd” to people. Or people just think someones having a phase. ( sadly even some gay people don’t think bisexuality exists )

In real life they don’t.

In fiction characters only have traits that are demonstrated to the audience. If you’re writing a character as bi from the start, you have them demonstrate that they are bi from the start.

The only reason to have them very vocally into women and then revealed to be bi later is you wrote them as straight until you needed a token LGBT character.

Ehhhhh yes and no. A character is no fun if you know too much about them early on. It leaves the actual story with very little to do.

His writer said he was bi from the start so eh. Agree to disagree I suppose.

Trust me if I felt they were a token or Blizz was queer baiting, ya’ll wouldn’t hear the end of it from me

And I am saying the writer was lying.

Nothing about that character suggested being attracted to men until the book where they threw the pairing in to appease LGBT fans.

Pretending it was always the goal, when literally nothing pointed to that before the book where it happens is just Blizzard trying to cover up the fact that they took a character who was vocally straight as one of their main character traits and made them gay for tokenisim.

Plenty of orc and human males running around in dresses. There’s you T.

shrug We’re just not gonna agree. Ah well

  1. Crossdressing is not the same as being transgender.

  2. Wearing a robe is not crossdressing.

Yes lets start with me and your dad

  1. Sorry if i triggered you. I apologize for being straight.
  2. I knew that one was coming, it’s why I didn’t call it a robe.

More power to you guys hope you get what you want.

While your at it I’ll take a bar in my garrison with all the races of opposite gender mingling. We both get what we like to see.

(peeks into thread and… nope… just… no…)

(toddles off for more coffee)

Blizzard doesn’t really portray relationships at all in the game, straight or otherwise.

There’s only a couple blatant ones. The rest are basically no more than implied, which we also have for LGBT.

More LGBT+ couples would be great. I don’t know about the specific examples you suggest, but it would be nice if the people creating new content for this game would have a population of NPCs that resembled the players. It sounds like they’re rectifying a lot of the racial inequality with the SL release, and that’s great and very long overdue, but there will still be much work to be done.

To use a somewhat petty but illustrative example, I was surprised to learn that with the SL updates only female (or female presenting) characters will be able to choose to add jewellery to their appearances (unless I’m mistaken on this? But that’s all that’s been reported). Making our fantasy characters conform to antiquated gender stereotypes is a very odd choice on Blizzard’s part. That said, I know plenty of straight cis men who wear jewellery, even out here in the fly-over states, which makes Blizzard’s choice even stranger. I hope little discrepancies such as these are only due to a shortage of time on the animators’ part and not because the business is being run like an Old Boy’s club.

that’s straight up wrong. There have been explicit straight relationships in WoW from the very first day. There are quests about them, there are main characters doing it, there are raids with voice lines on it.

We didn’t have a proper LGBT couple till now. And even though they are a canon couple… they literally do not show it in the game.

Kalec professed his love in the middle of a raid, and Tyrande ran all over for Malfurion, but Flynn has to stand 20 feet apart from Mathias… lol?

It’s better than nothing, but let’s not pretend to be blind.

Shaw: Literally daydreams about running away to the countryside with Flynn. Thinking of him as something more than a friend. Says he’s going to ask him out directly. Invites him to an inn and makes Flynn blush

Non Lgbt: I DuNnO I ThINk thEy MigHt be GaY

Heck I think the book even has him think about Flynn’s scent.

I am so mad that I’m all out of likes. Take this :blue_heart:. It is not the same as a like, but it’s the thought that counts. Come to think of it, I haven’t made my monthly “why are there limited likes” thread…

Boring pairings. We need controversial pairings.
