Can we get more LGBT couples in game?

I don’t get it.

Any character that your heart desires that isn’t outright straight could be gay. Why do we need them to proclaim their sexual orientation to the world?

Because of the world we live in, everyone is assumed straight until proven otherwise.

“Oh well - you can still think they are gay!” I can already hear you typing.

And yeah, I do, but gee there sure seems to be a lot of resistance to that type of thinking because as soon as I do “WELL WHERE DOES IT SAY THEY ARE GAY?! STOP FORCING IT ON CHARACTERS?!” etc etc idk read the last 1000 posts in this thread im tired

I don’t like the sexuality is fluid argument because sexuality is something you’re born with though there are times it can appear in instances where it can change due to environment such as prison. Though that change isn’t natural as prison isn’t natural.

This leaves it open to a two way street where people can argue it’s a choice and not something people cannot help. This sets up a dangerous issue. It cannot go one way and opens to conversion debates and other nonsense.

As for identification that’s tricky. Being a poc I seen fake poc and people posing as marginalized peoples which causes harm. People inflating the LGBT community is something that happens and leads to people within the group who are legit not getting any attention due to randoms wanting to be “special”. I seen it often in college and even more so in 2020.

Your words came off a little sketchy but hey, it happens. It’s type. So we’ll leave it at that. I am just offering my opinion and or corrections on things since, well this whole thing is a good debate. Take care and thanks for your own opinions.

I am happy to conclude the debate respectfully.

Yeah, no. You don’t get to be the gay police.

Sexuality may not be a choice- even then, your grasp on the studies seem to be tenuous, because there is evidence of both aspects, the innateness of it being more widely accepted. (You know, open to change as we learn more about it, like scientific study should be.)

If someone identifies as something other than straight, and they realise years later, like literally everyone else that has a functioning awareness, that the label they slapped on themselves is not 100% the end-all to their personality, they are more than allowed to change that.

I thought I was bisexual; growing up in the south, I was taught that being anything but straight was a moral outrage and hid it for most of my life. I didn’t even admit, to myself, that I liked men until I was in high school, and you know what? I experimented with it. I adjusted what I thought I liked based on real life experience. I self-identified as bisexual. Then, I realised over the years, I just frankly don’t care about gender. I’ve been with men, women, trans, everyone on the spectrum. What I was changed from the tentative steps I first took- I may have been whatever label you want to slap on it from the day I was born, but the joke in my first post was that I, in fact, did not come out of the womb knowing what I was. It’s an experience you develop over your life. That’s literally how self-identification works, and whether you find it disingenuous or not doesn’t even factor.

Rather limited of you to think in such binary terms. Last I checked there were 63 different genders according to the LGBTQ community.

Or is it you only support those genders you approve of, as that would be rather bigoted of you to do.

We add 5 every time someone complains.

Friendship is different from being gay.

So then you think that vilifying the entire religion (whichever religion) based on your interpretation of the way some singular individual or some small sect of a religion exercises their faith is acceptable? Hypocritical much? Why not just dislike the way a person expresses their hatred through their faith like most honorable folks would do? I get that its easier to hate an entire group based on the performance of one or two of its members…Oh Wait…

Uh… that’s exactly what I said to begin with? Sounds like you’re misinterpreting what I said so that it fits the argument you want to make.

It actually isnt what you said. What you said is what is used as a justification for hating a large group or a faith or religion as a whole.

Yeah you’re definitely misinterpreting what I said. Go off, though.

No. Not sure what you’re reading, but that isn’t what was said. Far reachin’ there.

My interpretation of this remark:
Nillah is bothered by individuals who hate others and justify their hate through their religious beliefs.

This says absolutely nothing about judging their religion. Nillah doesn’t like the individuals using their religion as a means to hate people.

Please correct me if my interpretation is wrong, Nillah.

No, you’ve got it. :+1:

Tolerance is Human, Acceptance is choice. We are Allowed to be accepting but must be tolerant. No One can’t make anyone accept anyone but they should & must tolerate one, With that said Sexual content don’t need to be in WOW . (imho)

I think this is where you lose a lot of support from the ‘outside’ on this one.

The majority of people just don’t (can’t?) see 63 different genders, myself included. I empathize with anyone who feels ostracized because of how they were born – but let’s be honest here, that’s not what this conversation is about.
