Can we get more LGBT couples in game?

Yea and chances are we know just as much about their sexuality as they know about ours which is none. 5% doesn’t mean we need every single movie, game, tv show out there with it. There is nothing wrong with it I just get sick of seeing it shoved into our faces. Like I said in my original post you don’t know how many npcs in wow have been gay since vanilla because they simply don’t tell you. Plus players can RP all they want if they want to show their LGBT support.

Every time somebody like Blizzard panders people just ask for more and more. Enough is enough.

Whatever you say man. Not my job to correct people’s projections.

And yet the majority of non lgbt shove it our faces and tell us not to complain about it. Mhm

Okay, except no one is asking for every single story to have an LGBTQ member. Out of the actual hundreds of characters in the WoW universe, it would not be an unreasonable thing to expect more visibility for the LGBTQ demographic.

Right now, we have a handful of characters which is far less than the estimated 5% of people in our world who consider themselves part of the LGBTQ demographic.

Adding a few more is not going to hurt anyone, or exclude anyone.

Edit: The only reason it feels like it’s being shoved in people’s faces is because the LGBTQ community quite literally has to defend their existence every day. If people just let them exist and live their best lives, their inclusion in the story would likely feel more “natural” to people who feel this way, and would be more accepting. But no; it’s always a battle.

You really are defensive tonight aren’t you? This sounds like a personal problem on your end if your so outraged by what other people do. I have not seen non LGBTQ people shove anything in their face.

Fact is I’ve seen that most decent people are acceptant of LGBTQ+ more often than not, and this is a good thing. With posts like you write however it’s clear that this is not something reciprocated however, which is the real issue I think.

So no. I don’t buy that argument sir. No one’s shoved anything in anyone’s face. This is a game and you can play it or not as you wish. Or are you saying you have no restraint in that regard? :open_mouth:

Mean the random npc banter is better than the relationship/romance stuff put out… see tyrande etc.

The current stuff was better with Lor’themar and Thalyssra. Granted hearing Gideon Emery read out poetry made me giddy.

I’d still play I’d just be horrendously bored story wise.

1 in 10 black people work as informants for the Police in the US. This means every BBQ, wedding, everywhere you go there’s an informant! honestly these statistics are incredibly skewed and subject to where you live.

Also self-identifying means nothing. You’re either born gay or not. In some instances trauma/need can influence sexuality but for the most part you either are or aren’t.

I won’t push this further, but I suspect there is another reason and I don’t think it has anything to do with the story. It is the same reason as the many, many people who say “Blizzard, I quit!” and then appear again later. Fortunately in this regard, we all are the same since here we are having discourse on the forums.

Take care, and remember. Even if it’s not outwardly stated or validated by a game 24/7, you are important, you are loved, and just as relevant as any other individual who walks this world.

I cannot speak for the LGBTQ demographic since I am just an ally, but it is my understanding that self-identifying is very important. And yes, while you’re right that you are born with it, I also firmly believe that it can change with years and experience as well. And that’s okay; the fluidity of it.

Go somewhere else pls

Do we want more couples in general or do we just want the specific ships?

Nice. So that means it’s a choice? Sweet. I guess the fact that’s it’s mostly scientifically accepted that being born gay is a thing means nothing because the realization comes at different times for people. Surprising to behold some people know from when they’re children. Experiences vary but you were most likely born gay.

Really? So that means with enough gay conversion therapy someone can change their sexuality because it’s fluid? Nice to know.

im going to have to request they dont

we saw how they dropped the Jaina/Kalecgos after it wasnt needed for the story, id rather we build on the blocks we have before building another house

I’d also prefer not to give them more ammo for the “kill the gays” trope that’s so prevalent anymore.

I’m actually quite impressed with how utterly you missed the point, but I suppose that’s nothing new on the forums.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re born gay, bi, straight, pain, lesbian or whatever else you choose to call it. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a choice.

What matters it the self-realisation. The identifying. The understanding that, as a person, you are not beholden to anyone but yourself in the face of who you are- society, your parents, some random guy on the forums.

The idea that it’s ‘incredibly rare’ holds no bearing, because it’s not a stated metric you measure. It’s a realisation that most people come to terms with eventually; some sooner than others.

Why does it matter either way? Why are we defining these people by who they like? Who cares who they like? That’s like the least interesting thing about someone, regardless of who or what they are in to.

Edit: what matters is, actually, that they need to fix the new blood talons talent for druids, because it is bullcrap.

exactly, what you do and how you live your life is your business.

but the reason why it matters is because game companies and Hollywood are trying to be woke and shoehorn diverse characters for no other reason than social brownie points. it has nothing to do with politics or social politics either, it’s a matter of authenticity. like how the Ghostbusters redo was a complete flop because they decided “we’re going to make it all women to be woke”, rather than worry about story first and then decide who would make the best fit.

these days, it’s more about the appearances and appearing to be inclusive and diverse rather than showcasing diversity organically and in a way that wasn’t obviously shoehorned in.

i dont care about WoW story in general, but if there was a gay character that fit in the narrative organically rather than just “because its 2020 and we need a gay character” i would have no problem with that.
