Different games have different stories. And different games put different amounts of work into their customization. WoW put less work into their customization and their class flexibility, but more work into functionality and eventually added the systems of other pioneering MMOs over time.

My experience playing WoW over the past 20 years is that there are far more anti-establishment players on the Horde side. Could be different on retail now I haven’t played that seriously since Pandas.

Right. This is simply games not putting as much into their customization as others. For example, WoW doesn’t have sliders on their body compositions. The same applies to literally every other part of their customization, overall…the options have not been good. It’s not some insane situation where a mustache twirling tyrant is saying “no colored people” to the programmers.
