Can we get Arachnophobia safe mode?

There was a turn spiders to cat mode but it got lost in the mysterious 2020 spiders to cat mode fire lit by cat lovers.

  1. consider a hobby or activity that some other people seem to enjoy
  2. join it, people are welcoming and / or treat you like anyone else
  3. ask that small changes be made in your favour (call everyone who disagrees with you gatekeepers, bigots, ableist, whatever)
  4. ask for more and more changes to be made in your favour
  5. say “good riddance” when original hobbyists protest and leave, calling them bigots, racists, ableists etc etc.
  6. as people originally interested in the activity leave, complain that it’s not what it was like when you joined and say you’re quitting if not fixed (h/t Mayura)
  7. return to step 1

6 should be “complain that it’s not what it was when you joined and say you’re quitting if not fixed”

lol excellent. adding that.

Spiders are so unfairly maligned. I love them :spider:

On my Hunter I had a pet spider (his name was boris) and when he would swim it was the single most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen.

That also sounds terrifying.

no. you can not play though.

this pattern is so predictable and has ruined so many things.

Sorry but I think you should just suck it up and remind yourself they aren’t real spiders, nor can they hurt or touch you. If we start down this road, what’s next? People are afraid of tons of stuff and it sucks, but if Blizzard had to cater to every fear what would be left in the game?

I find that a lot of people who hate spiders actually like Lucas.

BTW OP, Sorry but if people have to deal with their social anxiety/phobia and not get special treatment from blizzard for it. You can deal with your own phobia as well.

Precisely. WoW is a game with:

  • slavery
  • death
  • cannibalism
  • mind control
  • dismemberment
  • genocide
  • poverty
  • orphans

We start nerfing fictional, cartoon videogame content and there’s no reason to remove all of the above, eventually, giving you… something that is not wow.

You don’t have to play wow @Anyuexi and just like watching shark documentaries is not for those who don’t like sharks, if you are disturbed by spiders why not play a perfectly good game without them? Play Madden or Call of Duty or Overwatch or anything else without spiders?

You phobe.

spooders are supposed to make you feel uncomfortable that’s exactly why they use them heh.

It’s actually a good therapy for it tho. You’re safe from them, just stay a while with then, and you’ll be fine, trust me I had the same problem.

I have fairly severe arachnophobia (thank God I love in Canada!) but I’ve never had a problem with spiders in games. Weird.

I just saw a video of a little frog trying to eat a womans finger after she fed it a bug. Can count me out if even cute little frogs try and eat you!

Just want to say exposure therapy works but it’s not gonna work if you just look at WoW spiders. Those aren’t real. Jumping spiders is where I started, those and the ones I fed grasshoppers to when I was little (I started off with no fear, learned fear, then unlearned fear) I also did exposure therapy with my fear of heights and clowns. I’ve now climbed up the whale route in Cochise stronghold, and I have been a clown for a haunted house. When you’re the clown with a chainsaw they’re less scary
