Please I have really really bad Arachnophobia as well. I can’t play anymore. I was so excited for Shadowlands i bought the expansion in March. Its the only thing keeping me sane during quarantine and then i get to shadowlands AND ITS FILLED WITH THEM. I’ve had three panic attacks just this launch week. I cant do exiles reach at all i also had a panic attack there I had to get one of my friends who luckily was with me to do the quest for me while i set to follow and covered my screen while sobbing. It was awful. Ive just done Plaguefall dungeon for the first time and i had to exit game and I spent the last half hour just trying to stop hyperventilating. I am begging Blizzard to add a phobia safe mode or for someone to make a mod that censors them it could be simple as just like a black square on top of them it doenst have to be anything fancy. Please i dont even wanna play anymore this is exhausting.
Also to all the people who clearly don’t have phobias saying “just get over it use the game as exposure therapy”. I’ve been playing since TBC. YOU WOULD THINK THAT TEN YEARS would be enough for freaking exposure therapy but guess what? It doesnt work for everybody!!!

There’s a video where a guy couldn’t even approached a caged tarantula. After the initial fear, he was given the pill. Next day, he was able to touch the spider…

Makes me think of the way core memory used to be read. The read operation actually erases the content of that memory location, which must then be written back immediately afterward. In effect, this prevents that write-back from occurring.
Lol I’m afraid of underwater caves to the point where I get nauseous when I’m in them (there’s one in nu 1k needles with a lot of gold nodes in it that stood out to me specifically) but I would never ask blizzard to remove underwater caves I just grit my teeth and bare it.
My forsaken hunter has the giant spider mount, and a spider pet. Also a tiny spider pet. Rarely I do get an insult from someone afraid of spiders and try to insult me telling me I’m ruining the game for them then they do /rude, but I just laugh to myself and move on, but its really rare. I just really love spiders, and forsaken also really love spiders so its fitting for forsaken.
I have to say no to this. I’m sorry but being afraid of spiders is one thing but these aren’t real, they’re pixels on a screen. Honestly if your arachnophobia is so bad that you’re afraid of graphical images of spiders you really should get help for it. Every game has little and giant spiders and some games are more realistic too so this would greatly limit what games you can play unless you get it under control.
They’re not real, OP. Learn the difference between real life and game world.
And then stop making dumb entitled threads asking the game to bend to your phobia.
I hate worms IRL but in-game, I just squish them.
I had a pretty similar fear of dogs mostly stemming from some early encounters with them chasing me as a kid. When i was 13 our family got a dog and i’ve loved dogs ever since. Looking back, all those times those big scary dogs were trying to murder my face? Nah they were just a bit hyperactive and were trying to say hello.
Just kill them, problem solved
There’s already a safe mode. You just stay in your capital city, away from hunters or anyone else and with warmode off. There you’ll be entirely safe.
You won’t get to do anything, but adventuring is inherently unsafe as a profession anyway. Better to keep all those pointy objects, magic, and enemies away from you.
I like spiders. Don’t care much for snakes however.
I know someone who is afraid of both spiders and clowns. So in the spirit of laughing at her (its friendly ribbing i promise) i concur with this suggestion.

Yup, and to some degree this is also very bad because robbers will not be attacked by dogs unless they are trained, its already been tried many many times on youtube and experiments…ect. Friendly dogs will be friendly to anyone and everyone.
+1 Support, being a fellow aracnaphobic, it does get really hard to play when large and gigantic spiders are around… Although they’d never implement this, it’s nice to see fellow aracnaphobes play this game still.
I have to focus completely on my action bars so I’m not focusing on the screen when I have to go up against a spider, or I use 1 hand to cover my view of the screen so i can’t see the spider but can the bottom half of the screen, etc. It works for the most part…
It’s really hard when your worst fear is in a game you love. I mean, Let’s be real at the end of the day, I’ll still play WoW-- I just know that I get really scared in this game sometimes more than other people would.
Yes I have a heart attack whenever i see someone on that spider mount… and they always happen to run right infront of me…
I feel you OP, I feel you. 
I think game spiders are a good way to kinda get over it… I have arachnophobia RL but games I’ve learned to shrug off… Just gotta keep telling yourself they arent real. Its actually calmed it a bit for me RL.
just wait until you get to the ones that pounce on your character and stuns you
I have a little Astraphobia, fear of thunderstorms and the Shaman skill gives me the hibbies because of the lightning/thunder sounds. ;;
I honestly love spiders. Id prefer to see more variety like jumping spiders. In addition, I commend whoever it was that gave newer models pedipalps.
Spiderclowns needs to be an entire raid.
Reminds me of many many years ago. A friend and I were leveling in stonetalon. My hunter, who left their pet in the stable, and them on a priest.
We’re questing along and he asks where my pet is as we’re surrounded and dying. I quickly tame a spider. We fight our way out and decide to retreat. Some mobs leash, we keep running, some more mobs leash, we keep running, we pull more stuff, we keep running… almost out of the zone he yells it’s still behind us! We keep running… we die… spider that was “chasing” us despawns.
We ran for over half the zone trying to get away from my new pet.
