Blood elves didn’t “abandon” being high elves. They renamed themselves in honor and memory of the fallen high elves who died to Arthas’ campaign in Quel’thalas.

if that were the case, your “70 Blood Elf Mage” would be “70 High Elf Mage”
If they wish to RP, do whatever, sure, folks can do as they please. At the end of the day, racially still a Ren’Dorei mechanically/gameplay wise and not a Quel’Dorei/Sin’Dorei.

Therefore, I will speak on behalf of all citizens of the Kingdom of Quel’Thalas, you cannot use the title Quel’Dorei but we Sin’Dorei can.
We’ll even let the Shal’Dorei use it to infer they are the same caste as us.

blood and void elves are high elves just addicted to some form of power (drugs).
chris metzen is unifying all the elves together and we will all be a happy family in silvermoon again.
