Most highly demanded race since Beta and up to this very day.
So no. They are very much necessary.
Them not being made playable for “the” Elf Expansion would be just spitting on the faces of the true Warcraft fans.

I don’t think they’ll give another elf race. I think people have high hopes and a huge wishlist for a one-year expac. I think there will be a lot of people left disappointed. Especially the ones expecting some huge overhaul of things.
i don’t know what either of those things are.
You have 0 investment in the lore then and thus have no say in this.
this is a game, not a historical documentary. what does the lore have to do with gameplay?
how would “high elfs” differ from currently available options? in other words, why do you need a new race as opposed to just expanded customization (which i very much support)?
“Kaldorei? You disgrace a glorious past, hiding in trees and cloaking yourselves in false piety. You have grown as savage as the trolls that skulk about your forests.
Quel’dorei? You are peasants playing at nobility, all too willing to mingle with lesser races that dilute your bloodline. You are unworthy of the name high elves.
Sin’dorei? Of all the elves, I thought you might understand the choice I made to save my people. Instead, you ally with misfits and monsters
Each of you has debased your proud lineage. Each of you has forgotten the ancient power that is our birthright.”
we’re all losers here
You don’t even know what your race is even called despite it literally being said multiple times in your race intro and every time you talk to an npc of your race.
You have no teeth in this.
Lore based reply:
Elves are all Trolls with radiation poisoning anyway.
Mating with humans doesn’t make a Quel’dorei any less a Quel’dorei.
It takes drastic things to stop being Quel’dorei.
Like the Sin’dorei being traitors and pathetic.
Ren’dorei saw the light and returned to the Alliance.
Kal’dorei keep forgiving the Horde when they should wipe them out.
i play the game, so i have an interest in the game
what would a new race accomplish that visual customizations wouldn’t?
Not when it comes to this.
Learn what your race name even is before trying to tell people they don’t deserve Quel’dorei.
You are trying to call out someone else for not knowing the lore but then post this heap, lol.
you forgot to answer my question twice now
Sin’dorei are the politically legitimate holders of Quel’thalas and successors of the Quel’dorei. They were renamed.
The alliance offered them little to no support when their kingdom fell. There is a reason a good portion of remaining Quel’dorei were the ones who were not present in Quel’Thalas during the invasion. They were not allied with the horde until the Forsaken brought them in on shared grudges and experiences.
The Alliance has historically had a lot of flaws that mirror real-life alliances. You had to ingratiate your kingdom heavily to Lordaeron and Stormwind to reap any real benefits.
They were never buddy-buddy with the alliance. Until the WoW era elves in general were fringe members of the alliance.
WoW lore has sanitized a good amount of the r-- that played a huge part in the prior games
And you want to split blood elf and void elf potential future customization off to another race that is physically indistinguishable from the other two.
Instead of using your own imagination to headcanon yourself as a high elf. You need blizzard to do it for you. There are even addons that let you change what your race reads as in-game to everyone else with that addon.
They don’t need to add them, so they won’t. Adding them would mean less future customization options for the other two races. It’s unnecessary, because all you need to use is a teeny bit of imagination to have what you want.
God it was already a kick in the pants when none of the male dracthyr visage customization was shared with male BE/VE.
i’m always amazed when i see hardcore RP guys who legitimately can’t seem to think of an RP solution to their tiny issues
“nooooooo the quest text for this one quest from four expansions ago incorrectly refers to me as a queldorei or whatever, this is immersion breaking, i’m literally in tears”
Just like you forgot to even do your race intro.
They’re not the same race. They’re Fel tainted.
Back in my day the high elf roleplayers were
They’re the same race. Fel does not make someone a different race
Gul’dan is an orc.
this is weird
Why would one of the 7 human kingdoms, Magocracy of Dalaran, created during the human Arathorian Empire, surrender itself to High Elves?
