Can we all admit that the Forsaken

There has been a lot of history with different quest designers not checking with what other members of the team is doing, most infamously with Garrosh in Stonetalon Mountains. I’m okay with a little leeway though with the game being 20 years old and so massive but dead characters coming back with no lore reason is too big a miss-step, just spend 30 seconds on any of the WoW wikis.

I have to say, this is probably one of the times where the retcon feels supremely (and ridiculously) dramatic.
Like the original Wrathgate cinematic had Arthas walk in, oneshot Dranosh and then start raising an army. It was super clear that the allied forces were about to get their teeth kicked in.

He one shot one orc charging at him, we didnt beat Arthas by having a one on one duel with him. If anything Saurfang’s death might have hardened people’s resolve to kill Arthas.

Then he throws his army at us so he has enough time to do hiw own magic. There was no winning this battle.

I’m not arguing “about how 14 years ago on the forums argued X, Y and Z” I was merely discussing it with another poster, reminiscing on the past — You’re the one who called me a white knight for Blizzard, when I simply brought it up with that other poster :joy:

Gaslighting much? Yeesh.

  • I asked you a question in the same comment I had replied to said-other poster, which was what would you now have the Forsaken do … To which in your reply to that, you threw the accusations of me going: "hardcore white knight for blizzards bad writing"

Just because you may not be happy with earlier statements I made, or they happen to go against whatever agenda you may want to push — It doesn’t mean that I’m a “White Knight” for Blizzards writing, lol

I don’t see a reason why Sylvanas would keep her around. I can’t imagine a scenario where Sylvanas doesn’t on site Calia. Maybe if they didn’t go Saturday morning cartoon with Sylvanas, extinguishing the Menethil bloodline would have been a bit more cunning and intriguing.

A lot to unpack here(lets keep it packed tho) but essentially, you’re talking about my character that I pay to play.

You and the character that you created have nothing to do with what I’m talking about. I understand it my be difficult but try not to make everything about yourself when it isn’t.

It is though. Because her character is loyal to Sylvanas. That was the point you clearly missed

Doesn’t anyone stay dead anymore? - Arthas

I’m sure Blizzard could have hand waved some lore reason.

To be clear, I would have much rather Sylvanas not get a badly written villain bat and actually stick around, was just brainstorming some ways Calia might have worked instead of getting rejected by the players.

I am so glad this didn’t happen.

Within the Horde, we at least got a sort of end to that whole debacle, with : “the loyalists thought they were doing what was right for the Horde” being said by some of the NPCs.

Alliance Fans wanting to extract pounds of flesh from rotting corpses doesn’t get old, though.

Doing flying laps around Ironforge is pretty good practise in nailing your Skyriding skills.

All male human paladins are big smelly doodooheads.

Sorry I enjoyed well thought out writing that closes out old story scenarios in a meaningful way. If you like bad story telling by all means you do you.

It isn’t and you trying to make it that makes you sound like a narcissist.

Calia is to thank for their merciful treatment. The Alliance trusts her strongly enough to believe her when she says she sees the good in them. The fact that most of their members have fought and bled alongside the same battles – including against their own brothers – also helps.

Calia’s entire purpose in the Desolate Council is just to keep the Alliance from ripping the Forsaken to shreds. As an ambassador, she’s pretty good.

Another thing that works in their favor is that the Orcs have done things a million times worse.

To help you navigate this in the future, I’ll let you in on the “secret”:

Alliance Main #46,863 telling us how cool it would be to murder more Horde for “closure” will always elicit this response.

Well, I’m certainly appalled that members of the opposite faction want to kill each other. Almost like this game is about war or something.

(This post is mostly a joke, please don’t start up the stupid Faction War subplot again. Just make a gladiator league or something if you have to.)

That isn’t what they were suggesting.

See the whole quote below since you decided to be dishonest and cut out the rest of the post.

Not the gotcha you wanted it to be

See, i’m rather glad we didn’t have to kill more of the limited number of forsaken just to make the alliance mains feel better about themselves
