Having a pug system that rewards carries, organizers, and filters out bad players is worth it.

If blizzard wanted to ban all gold buyers and sellers it would be mostly doable. The issue is that they would lose like 40% of the subscribers.
This fellow actually believes, or at least has claimed, that everyone who has ever participated in a GDKP also purchases gold with real money. He has actually claimed this.

But more importantly, there will be way less raids and players because people no longer have incentives to play geared toons, and good players will have zero desires to pug SR, or MS > OS.
