no, you cant, blizzard knows better than you
ironically. whining about free speech on a private platform typically means the person doesn’t understand the concept either
I would agree with you on naughty words. What offends me is bullying. No reason for anyone to be mean over a video game. I’ve never put anyone on ignore for using cusswords, but always ignore people who get rude, regardless of whether it’s directed at me or someone else.
definitely censorship
That isn’t the same thing. the “potential offensive message” feature is relatively new and is completely separate from the general chat profanity filter that has been in the game for 20 years.
sarcasm aside, there are a lot of folks who really don’t understand it.
You will often find in games that give out social contract is that bullying becomes enabled from “the other side.” For instance, because of a narrative philosophy enforced by the company, mods, or whoever controls the censorship, unless that person is truly unbiased, certain people will allow to be bullied simply cause they have thoughts that goes against the power that be.
That was the solution in hots.
Can’t be reported and auto suspended for “abusive chat” if you just never said anything and had the filter turned on.

Getting banned for being a bigot doesn’t mean you’re being bullied.
Now I’m picturing a bunch of Forsaken celebrating thanksgiving… with a corpse as the main course.
Nah, there’s turkey and ham, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. I know, I’m shocked as well Forsaken indulge in that choice of feast.
For me it is…the forums. I am pretty nice by default but I have days I need to just walk away from here before I let my fingers type something I should not.
That is what being a grown up is though - recognizing there is a time and a place for things and that if I agreed to follow the rules here, I need to do it. If I decide not to follow those rules I accept the consequences.
Mr or Missus Pull-Out-My-2004-Manual with your MVP title already show your allegiance to Blizzard. And though I wouldn’t necessarily say that you are you truly biased to acquiescence to their directive, you do sound like a WoW spokesperson at that moment, which will call into question the legitimacy of your posts against OP.
I like facts. That is where my allegiance lies. I am happy to share facts to help folks navigate the support system, explain policies, explain account services, etc. The fact is that the policies have not changed in substance and proving that with documentation is the opposite of being biased.
Facts don’t care about feelings or agendas. Some people try to argue from a place with no facts which I do not support and will correct if I can. Ascribing a motive to my posts as though I get something out of it would be just incorrect.
MVPs get nothing. Nothing at all. No power, no pay, no nothing. I get no benefit from being green. Just the text color which causes people to assume all sorts of incorrect things about me just because - green. I am green for helping players with info. Info that often they can’t find on their own so it saves them time and frustration.
Assuming otherwise seems to against your own principles.
ye, i got no truck for bullying. and if i see it i generally call it out… with liberal use of profanity.
i have no problem whatsoever with dealing with people who stalk/harass/bully people. in fact, i rather support it.
but… is it ironic i feel kinda bullied in this thread? well, more like some of these people are trying to bully me, anyway. doesnt really work when i consider their opinions worth less than what i flush XD

@Felfáádaern exhibit A.
Yeah, I know about that as well. That is where I become an expert on policy and then I send them to my boss by telling them that he maybe could help them since he has more power than me. At this point I have over 25 years of dealing with clients, customers and employees. I will admit that is wears on you and I am now having problems keeping a neutral face sometimes.
I did have someone yell at me for being too calm. My response was, “If we are both upset who is going to fix the issue?” Then I asked if they need some water.
Ive been sent warnings from messages that were just complementing me in a really ratchet way and it’s funny to see the automated message protect me because of it.
i’d rather be right than liked. if more people thought that way this species might have had a chance.
This is the most over dramatic reaction to you not being allowed to be hateful I’ve ever seen.
Normal/innocent people don’t have the reaction you have.
is it ironic i feel kinda bullied in this thread?
I suspect your comments are being seen differently by different people because we all see through the lens of our past experiences. Maybe some aren’t clear what you’re advocating so they’re assuming based on similar forum discussions in the past.
thread reported why?
C’mon clowns, you same people reporting leavers that refuse to carry you.
Why are you reporting this thread?

Actually, your status as a MVP is your prize. Your dedication to being this support for rules and policies is your directive. Which was my point. I don’t know if you get paid or not for this role, but you take your time to be this representative on the forums, which is precisely your position.
And the consequence of your role is that you standout as more of the “system”, which OP is literally criticizing. That’s why I gave the response I did. You coming in is more like the hall monitor going “Well, these are the rules!” And we are all like “Yeah, okay, thanks for letting us know that. But we aren’t here cause we want to hear that. It’s the opposite.”
You are literally here as the opposition.
