Can I be fury prot in TBC?

Not really might have some points you can move around between arms and fury, but the meta has changed because in classic the bottom half of the prot tree doesn’t scale with gear, while the first 3 columns do. This isn’t the case in tbc, alot of % based mitigation and the need to be uncritable play a role in making sure you need a shield.

Some folks are saying its still possible to do well.

unfortunately not. which sucks because fury prot dw tanking is some of the most fun ive had tanking in any game.

you can dw tank a couple bosses if youre really geared but not really sustainable.

you must use deep prot sword and board like blizz intended.

So I goofed around with dual wield devastate in TBC. It was fun but it later got nerfed in a following expac. They made devastate require shields. Anyways I have no idea if it’s possible in raids though.

I’m sorry. “Good” dps. Happy?

You can bloodthirst with a shield on.

It’s finally going to be dead. So tired of this bad rogue RP spec.

I mean technically you can.

You can do 20/20/21 too but should you?

You can be anything you want in any raid you want.

The main thing is that you have plenty of gold to offer the GDKP raid

It was easy to tell who they were too, they were the dead guy 3s into the fights.

devastate didn’t “require” a shield at least through cata. There was a talent that buffed it that required a shield to get the full effect of but I am pretty sure you can use devastate in SL without a shield

They are far from Meme. This is a common misconception. The problem is most the bosses favor range and other than Arms bleeds and BS and the Prot with CS they do not bring much buff wise. As far as utility goes they got buffed and in Tier 6 they walk with the gods. Do not sleep on a class that had to stop and wait for 30 seconds after killing two mobs for 60 levels. The only reason you bring a Ret over a second DPS Warrior is to have 3 pally buffs and a seal refresh other than that Rets retain the lowest DPS in game. There are times when they beat Shadow but by Tier 6 a Prot Warrior is out DPSing a Ret. That is meme.

I’m not saying fury warriors are memes. I just think it’s funny they’re getting the meme treatment.

For heroics and Kara you will certainly be able to tank as Fury prot, probably even as DW if you want, at least once you have some gear. Now as the raids scale up, my guess is the changes to warriors will make full prot a better spec specifically for devastate and shield slam over blood thirst along with the slightly better defensive options that can be picked over a fury prot build. The whole reason for fury prot in classic wasn’t about damage, it was about threat, in classic Prot couldn’t sustain enough threat for the raid, with the changes, prot should no longer have this issue.

From videos I saw for beta raid testing, for some bosses in Kara it may be possible … but for 25 men raids most likely not possible … BC raids aren’t as weird and easy as vanilla …

Now that anyone can seal twist at near 100% reliability with a simple weakaura, rets are going to be very competitive with arms and near the top of the hybrids on most single target fights.

Not sure why the Druids are even in here lol.

Yes, cause the rolled flavor of the expansion and now are starting to fear for a raid spot. So, they reach for anything

100% dodge rogue gogo.

I mean maybe?

The numbers on active raiders sure as hell are not going to work out at all as it is.

I still see fresh 60 warriors in ZG/AQ20 GDKPs. Dropping hundreds of gold, when TBC is staring us in the face.
