Well with this much people caring enough to say they don’t care and heartlessly just coming in here to drive it so off-topic, it will be either removed or closed due to being a festering hole of the likes of you.
So thank you all for turning this thread I wanted to be a legitimate and honest discussion into absolute garbage. I hope your own creations get absolutely destroyed like this too.
You are the one pushing this false rage narrative, not me, me and others are simply responding to how closed minded you are and how you are trying to make nothing into something.
I’d never make a thread or threads to start drama for literally no reason like you did with this thread.
My advice to you and people like you is to stop playing or to at least stay off the character creation screen if body type 1 and body type 2 really bug you that badly.
So if “it” feels dehumanizing to you and you may struggle a little
Why on Earth… is this different for me?
What? My feelings are irrelevant in comparison to yours for me to express about something? You can say on that topic “It’s optional”. Yeah no, it’s all we’re given when DF comes out.
I’m speaking very broadly. This change has brought the transphobes out of the woodwork. If they’re outraged, they should quit and spare us the drama. If that doesn’t apply to you, then it doesn’t apply.
Honestly, I’m hoping it’s just a placeholder and that there won’t be any text that says it.
I play on a roleplay realm, I’ve seen a lot of people with characters that go to the barber shop to switch from male to female and vice versa as they like with their character. Now they have to look at that all the time [No, it’s not just two minutes in a creation screen with the barber shop, surprise, surprise] and only see Body 1 and Body 2.
Fantastic. They’ll all feel it eventually when it’s implemented. Their character no longer changes from male to female or female to male, just switches body types. I hope everyone that’s mocked me in this thread feels it even just once and finally understands enough to get off my back. It builds up eventually.
What’s interesting is in the wrath classic version on the barborshop there isn’t any text just pictures (least from my understanding) and I think in the creation screen it’s just pictures.
I mean I get it it’s a beta and if we have later on an opportunity to pick pronouns I would like that too. I think new world does that.
But anyway, just putting in my two cents. It is honestly a silly thing to fight over, especially since the game is still in beta and the text may be there as a place holder.
Precisely. I didn’t make this to gnash teeth back and forth. I wanted other people to talk about it and for there to be discussion. What I got were trolls, trolls and more trolls.
As the right always loves to try to say, “Go woke go broke” Then if it was about money, wouldn’t they just be catering to the heteronormative as they had been from the start?
Weird then, given they were ‘Chromie’ when first introduced to us in the first place and the name you LOVE to point out as ‘male’ in dragon form.
But Chromie had been around since before 2008 either way.
That’s what they were doing but now the heteronormative isn’t where the money is at. Now it’s inclusion and LGBTQ+ that congregate in every MMORPG anywhere these days.
Only recently did they switch the story around with Chromie and say he was male first and that was when I first knew about him.
It’s their story though and honestly it makes sense for Chromie.
Maybe they had plans to make Chromie like that from the start but couldn’t due to the time when the game came out, a lot of stuff was still “taboo” and people didn’t have the same protections as they do now etc.
We aren’t the writers / blizz we don’t know that.
So if they put in the bearded ladies that I’ve been asking for, how would you know if they were trans or not trans unless the story said so? Also the money is in mobile games not MMORPGs.
Yes Chromie has always been she/her, Chromie has always been female ever since she was developed as a character in the lore. It’s not transgender if she was always female.
What I’m saying is they changed the story of her being female the entire time to “Oh no, Chronormu was born male and then was referred to as female from there on out.” and they only did this because at some point they realized that inclusion brought in more players which meant it brought in more money.
When I first learned about Chromie/Chronormu it was from an article that stated he was a male Dragon among many other sources that I recall. That was what I was set on and my first impression. Nothing to me ever indicated that Chornormu was trans at all, to me he was just a male Dragon that used a female avatar.
I think the whole thing is supposed to be blatant pandering tbh. They REALLY messed up with their workplace-culture, and somehow little things like this are supposed to show that they are fixing things… Its a load of garbage.
While I agree with much of your take the change is in wotlk too so its not unreasonable for those to make and assumption that its a pr move. At the end of the day though the option isnt a big deal and OP throwing a stink over it is pointless. Many other games have body 1 body 2 options so Idk what planet OP is living on but this isnt new. At the end of the day its a game just play and move on. This isnt a big enough deal to have a egg over.
I didn’t say ‘always’ in the lore, I stated by the time we met them, which is after they chose their visage day event, in case you didn’t realize was when they changed to she/her in both forms. :3
Aww no sources for that, no check for the devs biology when they wrote that statement or anything else? Nothing to cite that you want very CLEAR evidence of to change your stance on? How weird.
Ahh articles, you mean the ones that people write for money?
