D4 will only have like 6 buttons
You’re a mage. If you’re pushing 20+ buttons, I assure you that you are doing it wrong.
Pfft, back in my day ALL games had ONE button, ONE.
Atari 2600
And games like Pac Man had NO buttons.
Hello, I’m a casual that plays many classes. Buying a gaming mouse and learning to use it has improved my play across the board.
It’s not about the game forcing you to buy equipment, it’s about you as a gamer wanting to improve your experience. Buy a mouse.
I have a combination of an old razer nostromo and an mmo mouse
I have hotkeyed 2 action bars to assist with minimal clicking (hold shift 1-=. Hold Z 1-=) it has helped tremendously with my arthitis and supports my wrist more to lesser the chances of carpal tunnel.
I cannot stress how amazing the nostromo is. Just a few keybind fixes and youd never have to use your main keyboard while playing.
No.
I love buttons.
Here are some abilities you could want to use in a single mythic+ dungeon.
14 rotational abilities and dps cooldowns: dreadstalkers, hand of gul’dan, shadow bolt, demonbolt, implosion, power siphon, nether portal, grimoire: felguard, demonic strength, guillotine, felstorm, tyrant, soulkeeper, pot, trinket
2 abilities that are mostly used because you died or you don’t want the pet to body pull trash: fel dom, summon pet
5 mobility: fel rush, demonic circle, demonic circle: teleport, demonic gateway, gateway control shard
8 offensive utility and crowd control: axe toss, fear, shadowfury, amplify curse, tongues, coex, weakness, banish
6 defensive and self-healing: mortal coil, unending resolve, dark pact, healthstone, pot, drain life
2 other abilities you probably shouldn’t be clicking: soulburn, soulstone
Agreed there are many specs that have way too many binds.
I have mixed feelings.
Me not being able to keep track of more than probably 21 keybinds definitely is one of the biggest things that limits me as a player(And I Mythic Raid, currently running my head into Mythic RAZ)
Without being a full blown clicker, I am simply not good enough to keep track of more than 21… To be able to have perfect clear reaction time of more than 21 is very challenging, all while select and tab targeting necessary thing in mass globs of mobs.
Saying that, I do enjoy that there are so many different abilities. I find it fun to have a lot of diversity in the things I am able to do in different situations.
Really? Because I just counted through my spellbook. I have 37 spells. Granted there are a few useless ones that don’t need to be on a bar. But I could have even more if I selected more active talents rather than passive ones. And the 37 doesn’t count useful macros for things like health potions, on-use trinkets, racial abilities, quick target marking, mounting, etc.
As I said a bit ago, it varies pretty widely by class and spec. But there are definitely specs out there with more than 30 (and maybe more than 40) spells available to them.
don’t bind some of your spells then
whats the issue
It’s been this way since BC if you are making Focus Macros.
And what classes “normal” rotation is 20 buttons lol. Pressing 1-3 minute cd’s hardly counts.
Game is not that hard…
I agree it makes things harder to balance but then again I don’t want some dumbed down version of WoW.
SWG did just that. Ask them how it went. Oh wait the game died.
You must not have played a Shaman to 70.
It’s okay, you’re still new.
" Boxing was reviewed by Video magazine in its “Arcade Alley” column where it was described as “demonstrat[ing] Activision’s willingness to strike out boldly in new directions” and praised for keeping things from “becoming needlessly complex” "
Yup.
That’s the same Activision.
Why not just test things out
Give one class 100 buttons for people who want to show how good they are
One class with a 3 button rotation
Have both do the same damage, both styles can be happy. See which class is most popular and cater the game to that.
Oh wait, they did that already and we got paladins
they should both do the same damage but each season they flip a coin to decide which one gets to cast PI
