Pretty tragic how many realms died due to mismanagement and corporate greed.

I think they want to play on balanced servers, and aren’t quite capable of managing that type of player distribution on their own, so they end up inadvertently overtilting the faction they’re on. Blizzard never decides to step in when this happens either, because money is nice.

So if a PVP server is being retired, does that mean they lost at PVP?

At that time, we will open additional Free Character Transfers from underpopulated Normal realms wherever appropriate, and we will remove the rule on PvP realms that prevents players from having characters in both factions on the same PvP realm in Burning Crusade Classic.
So wait, we’re just going to be able to have dual factions on servers now?

Still doesnt really address the Oceanic Servers. Right now there are two Oceanic Servers with Populations that even remotely would seem sustainable. Arugal and Yojimba. And thats not even taking the PVE server into consideration. Its almost a give in that at some point the population of the PVE server in Oceanic Realms will fall off of a cliff and the PVE server pop is all but dead. I can’t predict what the server populations will look like once Wrath pops. But if history is any indicator you are looking at 3 dead servers out of five on Oceanic servers. There needs to be a Server Merge at some point. My experience with Classic is if you can’t get people to log on for new content, they aren’t coming back. No matter how enticing you make it those players are gone.

Please remove the PvE/PvP transfer restriction on Classic Era too. The community is way too small to keep them separated like this.

Just go pay for a transfer to another realm. Fixed. Or just re-roll. Youre only lvl 58.

I liked having an essentially Horde-private server to myself… The Alliance had a decent population, and it was great being Horde side. You’ll be missed </3 Blizzard you broke my fing heart

I bet Earthfury is where they will send everyone who doesn’t choose a server before August 9th.
Best case scenario it becomes a balanced, thriving med-pop server. I think it’s much more likely to become an Alliance dominated server once all the dust clears.
Finally some good news for this game. I also hope some people make their way to realms like mine where they are needed. No more dogpiling to faerlina and mankrik.
So if peoples characters are transferred to my server. If I have some names reserved for Wrath toons I’m going to be making that are only level 1. Hypothetically will my server as a destination possibility delete my level 1 for a level 70 player that is auto transferred over?
Or will everyone that is auto transferred be forced to name change if the name is unavailable?
I just want to know my reserved names are safe that I intend to use next expansion.
