I couldn’t find any reference or official post in this tread. Nor anywhere for that matter. What I believe I read, and also have had replies to is this:
- No guild transfer
- Silence on guild tab refunds
- No limit to character transfer or on server. Create alts like TransferA, TransferB, buy 10 slot bags in home city (Ironforge for me at the moment), mail to alts, load them up, and transfer to free server.
Assuming Blizzard is on their timeline that means we have to be off today. Not sure if that is 11:59 PM time zone or before maintenance window tomorrow. If not all your stuff moves to the server of their choice and you may be out of action on that character for up to 10 days and on a server you didn’t want…
Oh - and that guild back of stuff - probably lost knowing how this works.

So is this the full and final list? Kinda need to know. Getting all my characters ready to xfer today. Tryin to decide where to go. I prefer small servers. I’m on deviate delight now. Was thinking bloodsail buccaneers if it’s going to stay open

Yes, guild banks will disappear almost definitely. There will probably be people returning after a break to find their guild banks of gold and items (not to mention the unrecoverable bank tab gold) are gone, and they never expected it because this hasn’t happened before in the history of WoW. It’s too bad.
Bloodsail Buccaneers hasn’t been slated to be closed. In this round anyway. Based on these forums the people who prefer a small community seem to like it.

No, go away, grobbulus already has permanent layers and it kills rp, we want less people not more. Only come to grob if you intend on rping

I’ve said about the RP thing a lot, but here there doesn’t seem to be a choice AND the horde of Grobb welcomed the transfer horde with open arms when this started.
Go to the myriad of other servers available, player dynamics have clearly shown people dont really care about server balance, and are more than happy to play on a single faction server. Leave grobbulus for the rpers and the people who respect rp, by stuffing more players onto the server, you force it to have more and more layers, which just makes things worse and worse for rpers.
For reference, I have asked a large number of grob rpers if they would prefer queues over layers, and almost all of them said they’d rather queues, because at least when they eventually get in, they will be able to play the game, vs layers where they get in instantly, but now cant experience the game in a way thats conducive to rp.
Mass server transfers resulting in permanent layers on grob single handedly crippled the rp community on the server
Personally, myself, and many others, have quit purely because of this reason, and dont intend to return unless grob goes back to a single layer, but honestly, at this point, I think its too late, all the rpers that have quit have moved on now, and grob is just gonna become another tryhard pvp server that will eventually tip to being single faction once all the rpers that were keeping the factions balanced quit.
I’ve posted about server problems and faction balance problems for around a year in hundreds of threads and am very aware of the issues. I’ve posted about disliking the layers that were not turned off for TBCC in MANY of those threads and in my opinion that destroyed servers. So I agree with you on this.
I also do not think that non-RPers coming to Grobbulus was a good thing but it was accepted by a lot of the Grobbulus population. The Grobbulus transfer initiative which was set up by players on your server meant that Grobbulus players were willing to accept people who came from dying PVP servers. Thus I have no problems recommending it or I would not be out of respect as that is generally the way I do things.
Note that I played on Retail RP servers for years.
If you don’t have an actual answer for those who are at the last minute trying to decide where to go then your concerns are best suited to another thread. Saying “Don’t come to Grobbulus” without giving an actual alternative doesn’t help the people here. If they do not move they are more likely to just be sitting for some time not knowing where their characters went, and they very well may be sent to Grobbulus anyway because Blizzard may send them there after seeing where others went.
I’m sorry to hear that you quit. So have many of my friends over server issues. That doesn’t mean that the people who are looking for a new home now because they are forced to shouldn’t be able to find it.
I did provide an answer. There are a bunch of other servers they can transfer to, benediction, faerlina, whitemane. Also, the grobbulans who did that server transfer initiative were a) not part of the rp community, and b) are largely transfers themselves already, and are already part of the problem, and just making it worse.

So people should pay to transfer to those servers as none of those are free…

it seems that you lack any empathy or caring for others who are in a not great place due to your own wants. That’s too bad.
