Sorry no. Theatre happens top of the hour and auto loot not working can happen any time at all.
I find its getting worse as time goes on, its happening to me quite consistently now where as when it first started happening it was like 3 or 4 times a session

Happening to me, too, and it seems to be happening more frequently. Happens to all characters I play, in every context where looting happens: looting bodies, herbing, mining, etc. There’s no pattern that I can see about when it does or does not happen.
Just did a transmog run with my lvl 74 priest through the Underbog, the Steamvault, and the Slave Pens and every single loot attempt needed a full click-through of the list to loot.
Before that, I did a run for felcloth in the East wing of Dire Maul with my lvl 70 mage, same issue with every single loot attempt.
Then while disenchanting the greens dropped in the Burning Crusade dungeon to make imbued netherweave, same thing, autoloot did not work and had to click every enchanting mat generated every single loot attempt.
This is getting old and fast.
It’s kinda wild to me that this can happen from disenchanting. Yeah, I was standing still on my mage disenchanting a green I’d looted a few minutes prior, and the loot window with the dust just sat there looking at me like I’m stupid. There’s simply never a reason auto-loot should not work with disenchanting of all things (which you have no option to take back once it’s complete).
This has been happening a lot with me. What’s the point of auto loot if it’s not going to auto loot? At least no auto loot all the time, why only sometimes?
Fix this, please. I just started playing again and it is terrible while gathering or looting anything.
Yea, this is beyond frustrating. Started happening in 11.0. Talk about trash code.
Maybe it’s all just a server lag issue?

Sorry, to clarify I don’t mean that all auto-loot breaking is theatre caused, but I do mean that theatre seems to break it absolutely 100% of the time.
If theatre isnt’ happening, its more inconsistent, at least for me.
(my server is very low pop fwiw)
There are certain spots where I can re-create this 100% of the time. For example, Rank 1 Herb area in the Garrison, happens 100% of the time for me. But the rank 1 Mine, 0%, never have an issue. Rank 2 Garrison if that matters. So I doubt it is purely lag, or WTF folder issues, or add-on issues, or the like.

Agreed. This is pretty obviously related to whatever back-end changes to inventory that were made to introduce Warbands. Obviously, there is some very bad and bloated code involved to cause this sort of stalling in such a fundamental thing as sending a string of item UIDs between servers.
Months later and it is still not fixed. It is has actually gotten worse for me. It always bugs out, if I am lucky 1/2 of the items will loot then the game will just ignore the rest, but it most cases it just ignores everything.
This is still occurring; it seems to happen when I’m attacking a group of npcs, instead of just a singular enemy. Least that’s what I’ve been noticing.

Nothing new to add. Just wanted to add my name to the growing list of complaints. My problem is in the Garrison Herb Garden. I have Fiona working there. Should I blame and fire her?
It does slow the game down.
