[Bug] Auto-loot is not working 100% of the time

Someone who works in server engineering said it appeared to be caused by downgrading servers to save money.

I’m able to replicate this bug 100% of the time across all characters on my account by doing the world quest in Azj’kahet that’s up today, called “Truffle Shuffle”.

In the quest area, there are packs of 3 mobs called Truffle Gorgers. They drop some random crappy grey items, and 100% of the time when I’ve tried to loot them, I’ve gotten the bug.

Maybe Blizzard can use this information to help them fix this annoying bug.

If I remember correctly, this first started back in WoD when the stacks for items were increased to 200. I first noticed it when collecting work orders on my tailor, if there were ever more than about 60 hexweave, auto=loot balked and required multiple clicks on the hexweave stack to gather all of them.

Now, auto-loot is balking on about every gathering effort in the garrison herb garden. Regardless what level the garden or garrison. This behavior started with TWW

When fishing in the garrison, most times auto-loot works, but when using Findle’s loot-a-rang after killing a cavedweller, auto-loot will occasionally balk and require everything to be clicked as if normal looting.

I have not had any problem in the mine actually mining. The mine carts though, auto-loot doesn’t work about 50% of the time.

While fishing in Shadowlands, auto-loot fails about 25% of the time. While herbing, about 33% of the time. When looting dead enemies in the Maw and Korthia, about 50% of the time. Soloing SL dungeons, same thing, auto-loot fails about 50% of the time.

Regardless the zone or type of content, I can sometimes go a whole day with no problem auto-looting like before, then it spikes, and every loot behaves as if auto-loot is disabled. I cannot discern any pattern to when or why it is happening. Did a full clean install of Windows, after the updates completed, the only software I loaded was the Blizzard launcher and World of Warcraft, and ran for weeks without any add-ons, it still happened.

This is very obviously a back-end issue.

Auto-loot continues to be a problem, not working at seemingly random times. Closing the loot window and reclicking on the item to loot usually works the 2nd time.

I can confirm this is still broken and VERY frustrating. At least I know it is an issue. I have experienced this for MONTHS, and finally decided to finally address this issue. Please fix this. Thanks.

Auto-loot is occasionally not working.

Been happening for a few weeks now.

Adding my name to the list, it’s getting beyond frustrating. I’ve watched more than a few mining nodes have this issue and then vanish without so much as a peep from the postmaster, either.

Bumping as this issue is still here, and is getting progressively worse.

Happens to me all the time. Very frustrating.

I’ve been reporting this in game every single week since early access, just bumping this because it’s still happening. Wednesday is normally when I go farm old content for mogs/mounts, and having to literally loot almost every single boss 2-3 times before the games remembers I have auto-loot turned on is getting old, I could have looted faster myself. Also I do not use any addons that modify looting speed/animations/ect, literal default whatever blizz has it set to.

Auto-loot doesn’t work any more more often than it does work. Really getting tired of these bugs.

I’ve decided to level up all old alchemy on an ALT therefore I went back to old content to do some Herbalism.

No auto-loot issue when these xpac were learned:
Shadowlands learned (150/150)
Dragon Isles learned (100/100)
Khaz Algar learned (100/100)

Issue (auto-loot Herbalism) starts to develop recently with or without addon when these xpac were learned:
Classic learned (300/300) issue
Outland learned (75/75) issue
Northrend learned (75/75) issue
Draenor learned (2/100) barely tested and can’t remember if issue or not

Auto-loot was working on first pick, then fail miserably after that.

Today i went to Mount Hyjal after completed Northrend Alchemy and issue was there where picking some flowers.
Realized I forgot to pick the Profession, went back to SW to learn it, then back to Hyjal and to my surprise auto-loot is gone (at the moment)

Will monitor if the issue is coming back or not

Seems server related, seems like Blizzard is packing more people on cross realm, extremely annoying when doing gathering, have to wait 2 to 3 seconds sometimes to receive loot, feels like you’re on OCE realm, but definitely not.

Latency is 26 MS on world/home and FPS is near 120, it’s 100% server lag causing this, but incredibly frustrating.

I’ve been having this issue since Patch 11.0.0, frequently occurring to the point that I just assume it’ll bug out the first time and immediately use the escape key and then proceed to attempt again.  I’m so tired of it… :weary:

still an issue, especially annoying when it’s time sensitive, like on an overloaded ez-mine deposit

ZOMG, the LoS crapola is nutso! Trying to heal in some of these new dungeons is crazy-time! Crazy as in the person I need to be casting a heal on is, like, RIGHT THERE (were we standing that close IRL, I coulda reached out & slapped 'em), but there just happens to be a piece of wooden plank that’s a smidge higher then either of the wood planks me or the person I need to heal is standing on, so it’s “NOPE! Small thing is in the way! Run around like a nutter-butter until you can locate where ya need to be standing so you CAN actually heal that person!” Holy moly! 11.0.5 is on crazy pills.

Still broken, but not as broken as Feral druids.

Still broken, but noticed something interesting:

The loot window came up, as it has been doing on “auto loot.” If the character moves, or clicks on another herb, the loot window disappears. If the character does nothing, the loot window disappears after two minutes. Two minutes after that, the herb being looted also disappears.

Something is definitely broken.
