(Brutal)lus

On that fight i was more focused on breaking the habbit of using arcane and multi as much, as well as the fact i think i only used it while i had to move because someone near me got the burn and i moved to give them a safe path to the burn zone.

Multi is always on your rotation no matter your haste, arcane isnā€™t.

Also on your kill you didnā€™t cast scorpid at all.

Ya you and the other hunters donā€™t seem to know the rotation.

Steady Shot should not be your top damage, it should be auto shots, you guys are all heavily clipping autos.

The survival isnā€™t bad but heā€™s casting arcane shot on CD which is where heā€™s going wrong. He isnā€™t clipping as many auto shots as you and the other BM tho.

Oh noā€¦the survival only used 10 kill commands all fightā€¦in over 6 minutesā€¦10 kill commands.

I used 52 in 4:55.

You all need to read up on the rotation of the hunter, it is prolly the most in depth pve rotation in tbc. You all are making massive mistakes just from your rotations.

When I get off work I will go over hunter rotation a bit for you.

You guys are all off on how to perform the rotation, Iā€™m at work so I canā€™t dive to deep into it yet.

Do you want help with the hunter rotation?

I know the hunter rotation, the information is on wowhead.

The problem for me is muscle memory at it as i havent taken the time to practice it outside of raids.

Would be cool if someone made a minigame to simulate doing the optimal dps rotation under changing haste values similar to how the one black temple boss had that minigame made for it to help people learn the mechanic.

I do appreciate the offer of explaining it to me, but my muscle memory is focused on me kiting things more than it is me being a turret and dpsing. I got bored in classic and leveled a hunter with no pet for a challenge and even when im supposed to be a turret, i still try to move now and then out of habbit.

I just need to take some time to practice fighting one of the immune mobs to build the proper muscle memory. Again though, i do appreciate the offer.

please teach us dad

We used to argue on the classic AV thread Iā€™m Drinknblink and you would always tell me how you played hunter for 10 years and I had no hunter experience lol.

I also told you i was never trying to parse.

Still not trying to parse but i am working on carrying some of the dps in my guild to get through sunwell.

It has nothing to do with parsing lol.

Playing your class right isnā€™t a ā€œparseā€ thingā€¦thatā€™s just a cop out

Not performing your rotation has nothing to do with trying to parse, itā€™s just playing well.

You can play well or play bad, you canā€™t play bad and just say well Iā€™m not trying to parseā€¦

You should understand the basics of the hunter, and it should be muscle memory to perform the rotation, we are a full year into TBCC and in the last phase and your logs show you and the hunters in your raid have no idea how the hunter rotation is performed.

How are you going to ā€œcarryā€ some of the dps thru sunwell when you arenā€™t doing good dps either because you arenā€™t doing the hunter rotation correct?

doing your rotation isnt parsing, thats just not being bad

getting into the right group comp using all comsoons and being funneled cool-downs like heroism while sightly manipulating group mechanics into your favor

that is parsing

Yea and the hunters in his raid including him arenā€™t even doing their rotations right.

Itā€™s not even close to right tbh, they are all clipping shots heavily and it seems more like they are just spamming steady Shot given the ratio of steady shots to auto shots.

Autos should be their highest damage followed by steady. Their hunters highest damage is steady which shows they are all clipping their autos.

Iā€™m assuming they just all spam steady.

On his kill of Brute he casted 186 Steady shots and only 155 Autos.

On my 99 as BM for instance with a much faster kill I did 170 Auto Shots and 140 steady shots.

just check our hunter logs, we are far from min maxers but is a well oiled machine which is more than enough

swp is the group effort of tbc
if only a few pretend to carry the raid, then it just wont happen

a car needs 4 wheels to run not 1 and a half thatā€™s not even a bike

maybe they are not clippin shots correctly
our 99 hunters on brut
199 AAs
152 Stedy
57 kill commands
24 multishots
14 arcanes
and a couple waves while getting into position on fires

Alright im home and on my pc now instead of the phone.

So my 99 as BM was this.
4:55 kill
171 Autos
141 Steadys
52 Kill commands
25 Multi
16 Arcane Shots
I ended with 2805 DPS.

His kill was 6:01 and 54 Parse.
186 Steady Shots
155 Auto shots
60 Kill commands
29 Multi Shots
3 Arcane shots
2160 dps.

Crazy thing is if you look at his survival hunter he only used 10 Kill Commands in a 6:01 fight.

Hunters who donā€™t melee weave are cowards.

Im trying to learn!

Update. We downed Brutallus tonight, yay! They put me in a shadow priest group and I started being able to really cast holy light (still used a lot of mana pots and dark runes). I was doing 1400 to 1500 hps parsing 97, but on the kill my shadow priest died, still got a 79 with 1259 hps. Thanks for all the suggestionsā€¦improving!

Wholesome.

Congratulations on your brutalus kill, felmist is much easier imo so that fight should be easy loot compared to brut. The hardest part is the encapsulate and that can be mitigated with use of health stones, some classes can instant break it with bubble, ice block, cloak of shadows. And if your priests are on top of it, mana isnt an issue either as the air phase offers a lot of mana regen opportunity for healers to regen mana. Make sure dps mind their aggro durring air phase to not get killed as it lands.
