Unfortunately, my brother’s appeals keep getting closed with the same automated response:
“Greetings,
This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use and our In-game Policies (https://blizzard.com/support/article/42673), which all players acknowledge and agree to prior to playing. These policies and conditions allow us to maintain a fun and safe game environment for all of our players.
Our Battle.net Terms of Use can be found at https://blizzard.com/company/legal/eula.html”
He just received this exact response for the third time, whereas I was lucky enough to have my appeal sent up for further review.
It’s incredibly frustrating because not only was he not cheating, but he was also streaming his entire WoW journey live on Twitch. He’s even uploaded the VODs, so Blizzard could review them and clearly see that no cheating occurred. Despite this, his appeals keep getting closed without any indication of further review.
Blizzard does not accept external evidence in these anti-cheat cases, given how willing the bad actors are to doctor it.
It’s also not automated, it’s a template. They intentionally use templates for these communications to give the bad actors as little information as possible.
Okay, that’s fine, but I still wish they would send his appeal up for further review instead of just closing the ticket like they did for me. It feels like he’s not even getting the same chance I did.
Just keep telling him to appeal until they state they will not accept anymore. All appeals are looked at each time by a different GM for a fresh set of eyes.
Everyone gets the same chance at appeals. It’s not really a matter of “this GM is nicer than that GM”, it’s more of “does the data I have support the punishment given within the paramaters currently set in the game.”
Glad you got unbanned. I’m working on my 2nd ban appeal in a week. First time i got banned over EULA stuff that was overturned (blizzards fault) and then a week later i got hit with ANOTHER ban stating hacking which again i never did. Been waiting over a day now for the “high up” team to look through the logs but still haven’t received a reply.
Funny enough my account also got banned after doing ZF, like literally the night i went to bed after completing it.
Doing ZF in and of itself would not cause any account action to take place. What you did immediately prior to an account action is almost never the reason for the account action.
Yes but if your actively playing your character via questing and doing dungeons with other people how in hell are you actually getting banned for hacking? It’s a confusing system made even more confusing by the fact that they won’t explain anything.
Because investigations take time to complete and what you are doing at the time of the account action will not influence when they penalize your account.
Someone could have been using a bot to herb a week prior, got reported and investigated, then the account action took place in the middle of a dungeon run.
Again, correlation does not imply causation.
Please note I’m not saying you hacked, it very well could be a false flag. I have no way to confirm or deny. I’m simply pointing out that doing a dungeon run in its intended way, or the timing of that run, will not cause an account to be suspended.
