Hello,
Today, my brother and I were wrongfully banned, and I’d like to request a review of our case. I’ve had my account for over six years, and I recently bought my brother a new account so we could play together on the new Classic Nightstalker PvP server. We’ve been playing with the same premade group since launch and were enjoying the experience immensely.
However, earlier tonight, both of us were permanently banned at the exact same time, with the email stating the reason as Exploitative Activity: Unauthorized Cheat Programs (Hacks). My brother recently moved in with me, so we’re playing from the same IP address but on separate Battle.net accounts. Could this have triggered a false positive?
I’ve opened a ticket, but the response simply stated that the ban was in accordance with the TOS. This has been disheartening, especially since we’ve been playing legitimately and were really excited about the new server. My brother was having a great time, but this unexpected ban and lack of clear support has dampened our enthusiasm.
Please reconsider this ban and provide more information on what may have caused it. We’re happy to provide any additional details needed to resolve this.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Jsyn

All you can do is keep apealing till they telll u to stop nothing u say or do here will alter or create another apeal.
All apeals are handled 100% by real people that use templates ignore the trolls that say other wise and no Blizzard doesnt use bots or AI.
Also they will never provide evidence on what caused it the most u get is if its a chat violation the blues are more then happy to shed some light on that.
And no u and ur brother from the same location wouldnt cause it.

Appeal and have patience. It will be seen eventually, and they will answer you via email. Your brother will have to do the same.

It’s just so strange that the system flagged us as cheating when we were literally in a mage group grinding mobs in ZF—completely legitimate gameplay. I wouldn’t even know what a WoW cheat looks like, let alone use one.
To make it even more confusing, my brother was live-streaming his entire session on Twitch. Could something we did, like him using Blink or some other normal ability, have triggered a false flag? I’m just trying to make sense of how this happened.

Only blizzard nows and i highly doubt using blink mages have been using blink for years without bans end of the day were not suposed to go into long conversations about account actions because speculation does no one any good.

Yeah, that was my plan initially. I got a response, but my brother still hasn’t heard anything. The reply I got just said the action was taken in accordance with the TOS.

Did u file seperate apeals or u filed one for both.
Separate, but I didn’t mention our situation about it happening to him to in mine.

Do you use vpns at all.
Do u use any other programs for any other games or autohotkey that mite be considered automation.

Also note, what you might have been doing just before receiving the account action is not necessarily related to it. It generally could be something detected or reported days, or a week or so beforehand and takes time to come up on the queues and being investigated.

I used to use a VPN, but I haven’t been using it for a while. I do have NordVPN and AutoHotkey installed on my PC for work purposes, but neither of them has been running since the launch of the new server. I also don’t have any other programs installed for games, no.

That could be what has tripped Warden to flag your account/s.

Autohotkey would do it if you have it on your computer even if its not used for wow that will get you into trouble wow work computers dont always mix.
While vpns are allowed you have use the same one consistantly.

Totally understand, but I want to clarify that my brother and I have spent our time since launch playing with the same consistent group of five people, focusing on questing and dungeon grinding. Suddenly, both of us were permanently banned for hacking, while everyone else in our group was unaffected.
I can assure you, no cheating of any kind was involved. The only notable thing we did before heading into ZF was going on a bit of a PvP spree in the Flats. I strongly believe this is a mistake and ask for a thorough review. I’ll keep waiting on the appeals process for now and stay hopeful for the best outcome.

Asking here is basicly throwing it at a brick wall thos that handle apeals will never come here. I would remove autohotkey if you dont want this to happen again.

Okay, will do. There’s no way my brother had AutoHotkey on his PC since he only uses it for gaming, but I’ll remove it from mine just to be safe.

Does he use any programable mice.
Keep in mind: it’s very unlikely that what you were doing at the moment the account action came down is related to why you were suspended.

I understand, but I’ve literally been doing the same thing since launch—just grinding dungeons/questing in a 5-man premade. Nothing out of the ordinary, so it’s confusing why this happened. Guess I just wait for the appeal

You also will not be told what was detected or the cause of the account action. Blizzard is intentionally vague as it’s information the cheaters want to help their attempts to avoid detection.
