Bring Twink Queues Back

Before xp was introduced BGs were twink only?

You and I both know neither one of our suggestions will be implemented, but its fun to play the hypothetical game isn’t it?

So we are going to speculate that battlegrounds would revert back to vanilla-esque bastions of glory if experience were removed?

lol, lets be real here. If there was no experience the only people queuing up would be twinks. It would essentially be what exp off brackets were. No levelers or casuals. If not right off the bat, it would devolve into that once people realize they are getting stomped and there isn’t even an exp reward for their trouble.

I mean if you are under the delusion that people are going to queue into a battleground that offers no experience just to get destroyed by twinks, you do you.

When gear is this balanced as we level through the lower brackets, what is the issue?

Battlegrounds offer more than just experience for one. In the hypothetical scenario, lets just say rewards are boosted (gold and gear ilvls), things like titles, toys, and additional achievements can be rewarded, maybe we go back to using marks as currency for something. BUFFS FOR EVERYONE!!

There are other ways to attract people to an avenue of the game. But again:

its fun to play the hypothetical game isn’t it?

Point out one piece of my gear that cost any gold.

We should just remove XP from battlegrounds and leave battlegrounds to people who want to PvP, not level.

It shows them as 595 ilvl.
Pretty sure that means they haven’t logged into that specific toon since BfA, which means their honor levels wouldn’t be set.

OR, we could just separate queues again?
Then there’s an entire queue for people who

It’s stunning how queue times are brought up time and time again as an argument against separation, and yet it’s pretended that removing XP wouldn’t do the exact same to queue times.

Or we could just remove XP again.

:woman_shrugging:

Not sure why you’re quoting me about queue times being brought up ‘time and time again’ because I’m 95% sure I’ve never brought up queue times since I haven’t actually twinked anything since this toon back in like Cata - and times then were like 5-10 minutes on a bad day.

Virtually everyone on your side of the argument has brought up queue times, I mistakenly assumed you had as well. That’s my bad.
Myninja has brought up queue times, and he’s also saying to remove XP. I should have quoted him before that last bit.

Point still stands though. Removing XP would have the same issues separation would, with the added effect of being a noob-trap. Plus it essentially takes away BGs from people leveling entirely, as it’d become just a waste of time for no actual reward.
I think removing XP is probably the worst possible option.

Meh, it’s one of those things I just can’t relate to I suppose. I don’t queue up while leveling for the experience, I do it because I enjoy PvP. I queue’d up constantly during classic/TBC because…I enjoy PvP. We shouldn’t sacrifice the PvP experience to cater to people who just want to level as fast as possible.

I’m being facetious about removing XP. Mainly because I know it will never happen. Personally I don’t care why someone else is in a BG. Either leveling or not leveling, it ultimately doesn’t matter.

I think you know me enough that I’m more in favor of finding a balance in power. Keeping everyone in the same queues but finding reasonable power level differences while maintaining the swag factor.

I support this, everything can be an option within reason.
Everyone gets cool stuff.

This is true.

Well you’re still honor level 1 as it shows that on your main.

alliance merc queues are hot

I just had this https://i.imgur.com/LAaaP5U.jpg happen both hunters are twinks. It felt like 110-119 had way more twinks while leveling then the other brackets. I would honestly take the occasional one in a 10-109 then what is happening at 110-119.

Just doing casual battlegrounds while leveling and doing dungeons I saw 9 individual twinks, more if you count how often they were in the games, maybe more if they were just performing badly. It was mostly dying in a global or two then being curious.

It’s even more egregious though, being able to farm a neck level that is way outside the bounds of levelers (even my mythic raiding main has a lower neck then some of the twinks I have been fighting) and time-walking gear that starts at 300 for level 119 (closest AH pieces on my server are 266)

Surely people must have a problem with at least this bracket, where every reasonable suggestion you have had to deal with twinks cannot be used. I would have to farm islands until well past cap and wait for a time-walking week to be competitive.

Save as many quests as possible to complete at 119… Quest rewards are 285+ and can proc to 301. An ilvl of 290 is competitive. Most twinks are 295-310.

Level the HoA by completing table quests, quest rewards , killing rares and looting chests. You don’t need to do one island.

Farming TW is the only big time sink.
