It’s the same thing at max level, my 300ilvl Druid isn’t going to be doing the same damage as the 415ilvl raider. Is that fair?
No, hitting the exact same target with the same buttons and rotation.
I know, and it depends how the target is geared. They won’t do as much to me as they will vs that player with missing slots.
If you were actually reading what I wrote, I said some % difference is good, but the amount right now is absurdly high in my opinion.
As for your 120 example: Imagine you had to reset back to ilvl 300 every 10-15 games while the raider got to stay at 415? That is more like levelling through BG’s with twinks.
Of course they would, but the twink does way more dmg than a BoA leveller for doing the exact same thing.
EDIT: some disparity is fine, the current level of disparity is over the top.
If my opponent is a leveler and they ‘work’ as hard as I do to ensure every opponent around me is healed (except when they aren’t getting them off me)/ AoE dotted then the disparity wouldn’t be 200%
I disagree. Bad teamwork is worse than twinks, as BGs strive on good teamwork/communication.
hmmmm not always:
their druid is a twink…
I don’t have a twink, so i can’t test, but switch out your gear to ‘leveller’ gear and do a BG, then compare the numbers to what you normally do. That is the disparity I am talking about.
Perhaps we are just overachieving and the levelers are underachieving inflating the numbers?
Did you even look at my gear?
In case someone says they can’t look you up
I am explaining myself poorly I realize.
Imagine Chaos bolt hitting the same target. A BiS twink press chaos bolt and hits me for 1200. A leveller (same talents as the twink) presses chaos bolt and hits me for 600. I am making up those numbers, as I have no idea what the real numbers are because I have no twinks to test with. Does this seem right?
I am not talking about total dmg across an entire BG, just the one ability.
I know exactly what you are talking about, and it comes down to how geared/not geared players are. The more gear the more stats, so you won’t get hit as hard. Queue into a team with no gear and the dmg on the other side will soar.
What am I supposed to see?
Then perhaps you don’t quite understand, I took the time to find primary stats/secondary stat gear that will allow me to hit you that hard. Your counter would be what gear can I get that mitigates said damage whether it’s gear, enchants, potions or what have you.
Perhaps that most of my gear comes from the AH? This IS the gear I would be wearing if I was leveling.
I’m finding out that twinks are getting blamed for way, way more than they are actually responsible for.
Conversation between me and a friend: (us queueing against each other for funzies)
Him: “So how may twinks on your team?”
Me: “Just me”
Him: “OK me too, no twinks”.
Less than 6 minutes later…
Him: “YOU LIED TO ME! YOUR TEAM HAS THREE TWINKS! I JUST GOT KILLED IN A FEW HITS BY THAT DRUID AND PALADIN”
So I check their gear… hmm. nope… definitely not twinks.
Both were wearing heirlooms and a few blues.
No sockets, no “best in slot” that I could see, and no enchantments.
Excuse me… twink where?
So while I was in the graveyard waiting on rez timer (yes, it’s true, twinks do get killed), I examined literally every player on our team and took screenshots for my now irate friend.
ONE (very dead) twink on the entire team. Me.
I will admit that in the 80’s bracket, there are some really nasty, toxic twinks who love to faceroll… well, everyone.
But this “twink problem” I keep hearing about?
It just… isn’t there so much after about 50.
Now lower brackets are riddled with toxic twinks, but onwards and up? Yeah, no not seeing it.
And playing the 80’s bracket as much as I do, we all pretty much know who is who at this point.
You know this happens at max level also right? So it’s ok there but not the other 119 levels.
TIL, if anyone doesn’t like end game BFA they are just a lazy POS. There is literally no other reason that someone wouldn’t play end game.
What difference is there between max and leveling outside of fewer abilities? Gear treadmills or broken status pre cap.
erhaps those lower ilvl players should have a special bracket so they all can afk together against members of the other team who are all afking together.
So… split the queues again? I don’t think many would argue against that…except twinks.
What difference is there between max and leveling outside of fewer abilities?
There’s lots of tedious BS at end game that isn’t a factor for twinking.
Islands, AFKfronts, world quests, weekly bosses, M+ - all the crap that one has to do at end game to keep up with gearing. Now I’m sure some people enjoy all that stuff, for me personally though it felt like I had this list of chores I had to check off before I could actually play the game I want to. It just wasn’t fun, games are for fun at the end of the day, so I found a way to still have fun in the game.
For clarification, it’s not the treadmill itself that has sapped the fun for me. I’ve played pretty much only end game every expansion over the last 10+ of playing WoW… I have no issues getting new gear every season. When getting gear was deterministic and logical, do PvP to get PvP gear, do PvE to get PvE gear. Now though with neck levels, warforging and titanforging, azerite builds, it’s all a slot machine of uninspiring and boring things you have to do to get gear. BFA’s design is just bad IMO, from the ground up it’s a rotten design philosophy. It’s really very simple, I do not enjoy the current expansion at all, but I still enjoy some parts of WoW, namely PvP, so I have found a way to find fun in a game where the current expansion makes me want to uninstall. I personally know many of the twinks I play with are also in that camp.
All I’m saying is you might wanna not be so quick to attribute motivation behind stranger’s decisions. You have no idea the personal reasons some players do different things… claiming that you do know just makes you look like an arrogant bellend.
Oh delicious irony.
You could argue that end game is tedious, but such is the life of an RPG. It’s particularly bad in BFA, but the fact remains gear acquisition and replacement is a core part of world of warcraft.
If there was no option to shut off experience and you’d continually have to reroll your twink characters I’d say you aren’t lazy at all. That would take real dedication.
But to say, “no, I’m sick of gearing all I want to do is play” is pretty ironic considering thats what non twinks want to do. Its pretty lazy.
