Bring Back the "War" in World of Warcraft!

Goodness, with the witty and original title, how could I disagree?

When BFA was announced on the heels of legion, players were absolutely scratching their heads about it. The idea of the factions going to war again, after just defeating their biggest shared threat together felt utterly contrived. Even within the story it seemed hard for the characters to buy it. So the blame all just fell on the shoulders of that darn banshee queen!

Why the heck would players join an omnicidal faction? That makes no sense.

Like, you can RP that your character secretly works for the Scourge or the Jailer or the Burning Legion or the Old Gods/Void Lords or whoever, but at the end of the day, thatā€™s a dead end from a canon perspective (quite literally in the Scourgeā€™s case.)

Thereā€™s not been a good faction war plot in this game. Weā€™re currently waging wars, but not against player factions.

How is another faction like the Scourge is a dead end? Two of WoWā€™s factions are at a dead end at this moment. I believe it is the perfect time to for the Scourge to come back with a vengeance with the help of the players. A new leader of the Scourge comes to take out both factions while they are weak. The perfect time to kick that dog while itā€™s down. The Scourge should never waste an opportunity while they have chance to conquer.

I think they should double down on professions and change ā€œWarā€ to ā€œMoreā€

No. The faction ā€œwarā€ is done, thereā€™s no point to it and there wasnā€™t for a very long time.
The gameā€™s systems simply donā€™t reflect it in a way thatā€™s not painfully outdated and bad.
This is not a fantasy milsim, itā€™s an RPG. You are in the end an adventurer, not a foot soldier.

Please just stop with idiot takes like this.

You misunderstand me. Iā€™m fine with the Scourge coming back. The part youā€™re not explaining is why players need to be part of that. Like, what would a ā€œScourgeā€ questline even look like? What world activities, dungeons and raids would they do?

I was hoping to bring back the ā€œofā€ in World of Warcraft.

The arathi empire will show up at some point as a villain. Then thereā€™ll be war with them.

Thereā€™ll probably be an old god pulling the strings too, because thatā€™s how WoW works

As with most of your posts, it is hard to even take your opinion seriously. Had you brought a solid example of whatā€™s wrong and how to change it, folks might be more receptive. But when your post is a masked pot-shot at Blizz, an insult using Disney, and the mention of other game and movie characters that have nothing to do with WoW, it feels less like a advocate for change thread, and more like a Dear Diary post. Also, if you have a character or account that shows actual progress in the game, that canā€™t hurt either. At this point, myself, and other posters like me just cannot take your posts seriously.

This guy really likes kicking dogs

The dungeon and raids for a 3rd faction would go against the Horde and the Alliance.
Thrall , Auduin , Alleria Windrunner , and ectā€¦ would be the raid bosses to go against.
Have full raid on Stormwind and Orgrimmar.

The players would be apart of a 3rd faction to help destroy both factions.

The problem is that they always try to have the wars triggered by the leadership. When the leaders are usually ok people. They should be triggering the wars thru dumb moves the generals and soldiers make.

Having a 3rd faction is opportunity for new players and old players to come back to WoW.
Having new lands, new classes, new races, flying mounts, and gear.

Itā€™s an opportunity for nothing. None of those require a 3rd faction. The two factions are already outdated and have been for 20 years now, another would be actively idiotic.

While I joke about how Midnight is going to do that as a test for 3-way pvp, realistically pvp does not and has never really needed the factions to reflect the player allegiances in the way it does.

Pvp in the past has always about loyalty to oneā€™s faction which is one of the big reason why WoW became so popular.
Now that pvp and factions are pretty much Dead, I donā€™t know how long WoW will survive without something new added to the game. Right now WoW is on life support. For how long? Donā€™t know, but i hate to see the game sank like the Titanic because some players have a bad attitude towards War in Warcraft.

WoW becoming like a Disney game will not fly with most players. That garbage needs to end before it gets started.

No. That horde vs alliance stuff is boring and overplayed.

Oh anti-woke stuff, got it.

Youā€™re way too early pal.

Weekend is a few days off yet.

Good luck, and donā€™t forget your shovel.
