Just repeating this does not make it true.
I feel you’re not engaging honestly here so we can just stop now and not talk to each other.

I was there in the begin times, warmode is much better, but I do support a PvP server. Some of the best times I had in WoW was at South Shore, Thorium Point, and BRD by the MC portal. Unfortunately, just like vanilla, no matter how hard you try, you can’t get it back. Your guild is gone, 99% of your friends are gone, and the gear power gap is greater than it’s ever been.
Warmode is literally what you want. Everyone is flagged for PvP, all the time. Just because you say it isn’t, doesn’t change that.
War Mode is right there.
It works the same way. You. Have to find other enjoyment than ganking starting zones.
Oh god I just remembered who OP is, So OP wants community and whatnot yeah?
2 days ago OP made a thread suggesting to Blizzard that they allow the ability to do guild achievements solo.
Make it make sense
im gonna try to explain the difference. though as barabulk noted, i dont think people are engaging this topic genuinely so i am likely wasting my time.
first off, briselody is almost certainly correct it was bashing everyone together in one big psuedo server was the death knell of any actual community in wow. i kinda get it, having explored the world some since coming back, it is BIG. so much bigger than in my day i understand why the decision was made, even if i do still strongly disagree with it. if players only interacted with players from their own server the vast VAST majority of the game world would be empty. so get the decision to merge.
but the thing is, if you dont play with or around the same people all the time you never get to know anyone. you dont see a tank in a group and know you dont want to be in the same party. you dont see a hordie and know you are in for a hell of a fight. you dont learn who you can call for help when four people are camping you. you never get to know people. and so a community never forms.
something that would (and did) happen organically on pvp servers. you answered the call for help, because it might be you in need tomorrow. you defended your faction, so they would defend you. there is no sense of community in modern wow. none. everyone you see is a faceless npc you will never see again. people dont even talk in rdf that i have seen.
In other words you want to gank and harass and prevent other people from playing the game because you don’t have the spinal fortitude to fight players your own level. pvp servers are what nearly killed this game to start and they’re not going back. If you want pvp then flag for warmode, go into arena, or do BGs. Or duel folks outside the cities like everyone used to do. You’re only as helpless as you choose to be in this instance. Or if you really want pvp servers, go play classic servers where that’s still a thing.
Nothing in there described a difference between Warmode and a PvP server though. What you described is having no cross-realm interactions in the game, and then lumped in an overly-romanticized claim about PvP servers that was by no means a common thing, and also claimed that you can’t get a community despite having way more people available to form one.
nobody cares. i have toons for both factions and i hate not being able to tw with ally toons when im on horde toons. if i could choose neutral and go to both factions capitols and do all content with both id do it in a heartbeat

Repeating “they’re different because I say so” doesn’t make that true either.
You’ve provided nothing of substance to prove a need for a separate server type.
Well… I guess it doesn’t need to be alive, so thats a pass.
That’s why you have to make your own community. The tools to do so are provided.
Blizzard specifically merged servers together to avoid having them be these isolated self-contained islands, because that was causing more problems than it solved.
The only problem i have with dedicated pvp servers is how to prevent faction stacking. Once the balance veered off to one side or the other the population went lopsided fast. I really doubt you can force people to choose a losing faction no matter how the odds are balance in some way. I could see faction balance be better if it were 3 sides or 5 sides. DOAC works great with 3 factions and even if one faction got weak, the other faction comes to their aid even if they dont want to.
And while we’re at it, put the spring back in Springfield!
this nobody wants to be the camped… i played on a pvp server from bc to legion i think. ganking got old, world pvp or ganking is only appealing to middle school kids being edgy. no adult actually enjoys that.
it is the same.
you’d have the same number of WILLFUL pvp people.
It literally may as well be a pvp server in of itself.
just because you can’t sit there and gank people 500x less powerful than you that choose not to deal with you, doesn’t mean you aren’t doing wpvp with other people that want to do wpvp.
and I can GUARANTEE that is all this crying about “but me pvp server” is about.
Not being able to gank people who don’t want to be ganked.
It’s not. I wish people would stop saying that.
People flip it off and on. I have to play alongside people I can’t interact with in a pve server. There is no centralized server community and population the way there is on, say, Moon Guard.
I don’t like warmode the way I don’t like /pvp on classic pve servers.
But nobody’s mind is going to be changed so I’m just going to point back to my first post.
