Because more stuffs, obviously. If everybody has 2-3 old elite sets they can buy then that’s a lot of content and reason to push, which the ladder really needs.
You don’t think just adding elite recolors between 2100-2300 on a seasonal rotation would be enough?
I think it would be plenty.
It’s a really bad idea to devalue things in general, let alone WoW.
I sold the physical card for $600.
I wonder how many people bought a fel drake for over $1000
Yeah I had the chance to farm it but back then transmog wasnt a thing. My server had huge t3 farms but 16 yr old me thought it was a waste cause transmog wasn’t even an idea in anyone’s head
Most people got it for like 50k in mop.
My gf wanted it so bad, she missed the twitch promo and never let me live it down because apparently it was my fault I didn’t tell her everyday to watch twitch
“You can buy me the card”
Maam, that is a lot of $ there pal.
Gotta make sure it gets done. Sheesh.
I think 2.1 is too high to drive participation for it
There’d be a nutty amount of people queuing up chars they haven’t played in years.
I’d be fine with 1800-2k as well.
I think just adding recolored older elites on seasonal rotation would boost the ladder dramatically.
People love new things, people love having things others don’t.
Having 2 new elite sets (fresh and recolor) to earn per season would be huge for participation.
I’ll disagree on that. If we switch to a open flood gate MMR like RSS s1, and implement decay at 2.4 or 2.7k vs arbitrary blizzard inflation, it will look more like SL s2 and it will be pretty high participation at that level
Disagree. Casuals don’t touch pvp. I have seen tons of themin the random spam guilds I join talk about how impossible it is to get the vicious war mounts even though every nelf rper wants the tiger. That one is just win games over 1k
Setting it to high would dissuade any of them from even trying and there aren’t enough pvpers to commit to people.going for rewards over 2k
MMR is a different discussion entirely. I can’t stand how the current MMR system works and I know a large amount of people feel the same way.
I actually forget that there some casuals out there that can’t push out of 1k.
At one point i thought i saw someone with actual negative mmr, might be misremembering though
No, they do, it’s just unranked.
The issue with ranked until shuffle was the premade aspect. It was hard to find people who wanted to play a lot of games but also deal with the losses, especially with newbies.
Also a lot of the collector base avoids pvp.
There was an exploit involving negative MMR back in cata that gave people max rating gains for every win they did while they were negative. A couple people exploited to over 4k rating
A lot of people within this thread alone are much better than the average player.
I personally believe it should go like this:
- 1800: completed elite mog
- 2000: recolored seasonal older elite
- 2100: illusion
- 2400: tabard
- 2400 + 50 wins: gladiator
- 2400 + 100 wins: legend (rss)
Have the elite recolors on seasonal rotation example:
Azure Gladiator (DF S3) + Vicious Gladiator Recolors.
Bronze Glaidator (DF S4) + Ruthless Gladiator Recolors.
Yeah but I doubt people wanna take the next 10 years waiting for the rotation for their season again.
Maybe run it where the first season elite set of all expansions is available in the first season of the current expansion?
