Bring back Masterlooter

It’s very simple that no one here has suggested systems that would solve the problems and reasonings for why Blizzard removed Masterlooter, so it’s likely it won’t come back.

The problems were: People abusing it to have power over a guild of people and giving loot to whoever they wanted.

Not giving loot to people on Trial for the guild which for some guild is a month+.

The ease of split run within guild to funnel gear to your ‘main raid team’ to get bosses down fast. Though the current system doesn’t prevent it fully, it hinders it a lot more.

People constantly making tickets because they either disagree with who got the loot, it was given to the wrong person on accident and they refuse to give it to ‘who was supposed to’ or otherwise.

Solution: if your officer team does this, leave.

Core raider before trial makes sense. If the officers decide that the trial isn’t getting anything, even if nobody else needs it, they probably have already failed the trial.

Not like forcing PL stopped them. It was actually a buff to the hyper-degen levels of splits, as we saw this tier.

It takes 5 min to say “nothing we can do about this” in a response.

Still the only argument that ML should have even been removed in the 1st place is “I don’t like it, so you shouldn’t have the option”. I don’t like the gameplay and some of the inter-player interactions caused by feral Druid existing, so they should delete that spec. That’s the same as your argument.

But to use your own standard from a previous thread, kill Lihuvim before responding.

Love it, totally agree.

Master Looter = Ninja Loot incentive, Feelycraft incentive, Loot is distributed arbitrarily according to Master Looter’s whims.

Personal Loot = No Ninja Loot incentive, Equal fairness in distribution, No feelycraft gaslighting.

Truth is, people who want Master Loot back don’t like they are treated the same as everyone else, they want loot priority and loot reserve (“The first legendary is mine”). In other words, this thread is the same as a political lobby, so we can tax new players/raiders so the corrupt leadership can have extra upgrades.

Come at me.

They could just make it so that guild groups have the option to use it, and we already have technology for the game to recognize when a group is classified as a guild group, since there are guild achievements.

You mean besides the literal OP and numerous others through the entire thread?

O right, you’re that lunatic that gets super upset when they lose arguments on the forums and devolves even further.

Solution: If you don’t like not having ML, Leave. :3

Not really, Trial still there spending their time. Sorry, treat it like a ‘job’ where it’s team-based but then not pay a member of the team?

Hinders most, especially regular guilds given to do so they’d have to pay a ton of gold for people to Willingly let go of a ‘new piece’ or it will be the same piece in the same slot they already have~

Hmm, wasn’t a buff. They would’ve had to do a lot less splits with old system to funnel gear. Hence, they had to get outside of guild help~

How many tickets were there being created in regards to it? 5 minutes times a million, or even half a million is how many hours of time for tickets? Woops.

Again proving my point, you act like all of the problems with ML were non-issues. Exactly why it won’t be back~

Personally I do hope they push Retail more towards everything being queued content. No more guild requirements~ No more cliques.

They did not, try again.

Exactly what I’ve been saying, this whole time.

Congratulations of possibly the worst take I have ever seen on the forums.
It is precisely that group content and connections between players that has made the game so successful for almost 2 decades.

This person keeps raising that bar. If you push the game too hard into queues with random players, it might actually kill it.

Job analogy fails, because only 1/5 of the team gets an item at all. If you want to think of raiding as a job, where the only pay is in items, no matter what you do you’re only paying 20% of the team. If you want to extend the job analogy, everyone who’s there gets paid in vault progress. No matter what loot system you use. The boss drop items are a bonus.

No, it very much was a buff. With ML, they would not have been able to force tier drops for a specific token.

Less than you think.

Well the devs did state that they are not perfectly happy with the state of forced PL for organized cooperative groups, and they want to do something about it in dragonflight.

Also, where’s that M Lihuvim kill? get on my level.

Ion has voiced the possible return of ML in some form.

Bumpity

You’d be wrong in assuming that people can’t ‘connect’ in the first place or that allowing more stuff to be queued ‘hurts’ players or the ‘social’ part of the game. You’d be objectively wrong, because there’s discord, twitter, and elsewhere people that play the game tend to socialize in the first place.

Wait really? Is there and interview or something he said it in? I thought this was just copium but if he is talking about it then its probably happening

yep hopefully the people who are against this will follow their own advice when blizzard made a change they didn’t like. “It is the way it is, deal with it”

Yep, on of all places, asmonbald’s stream. They want ML or something similar to come back, but it’s in the state of “can we untangle enough spaghetti to accomplish that”

Knowing the Blizzard of today, I am confident that no matter what they do, they will monkey paw it into oblivion and people will hate it.

Not with Microsoft breathing down their necks, it’s now do or get removed more than likely.

Microsoft will get its value back in returns.

It won’t be because ML is back.

They’ll need more to sweeten the pot.

No one said it was solely because of ML.

Old talent trees, more compromises on flight, better alt gearing, no borrowed power, revamped old zones and dungeons.

They are adding a ton of stuff that will benefit the game.
