You know as well as I do that some people always want to have control over every little aspect of someone else’s playtime. PLNR is the best solution for the majority of players, but the small (and VERY vocal) subset of players that keep insisting ML be brought back will never stop vilifying PL.
And the sad thing is, PLNR can work just like ML with one caveat: The gear initially goes to a player first. The ML crew wants us to believe that ML groups would NEVER do anything to abuse the system, but the PLNR crew will always try to get away with “their” gear. They can’t seem to understand both sides are people and have their faults. I don’t know whether that’s irony, hypocrisy, or just flat out shady at this point.
Arguments for ML are like the arguments that used to be in place that banned same sex marriage, and trans rights because instead of government taking no action and defending these rights you want to hand the power to a smaller state that often will abuse your rights with little to no repercussion against them.
ML is like advocating for states rights. We know that states rights doesn’t defend civil liberties and protect people, why would ML?
The removal of ML has been the single biggest detriment to WoW in it’s entirety - most other detriments are made up of a large combination of factors, rather than a single, simple action…

Some years down the line people are left wishing those entities had been proactive about the problem and responsible instead of paying damages to the victims.

You look at this thread and how toxic both the sides have been just goes to show if any more control is given to the player base it will be a absolute show.
I think not having ML has protected us from this toxicity getting into the game. We already have plenty of other toxicity to deal with in game would not want another.
the LFG is already has a lot of boosters with ML there will only be GDKP and boosters in it.
They can say as much as they want , it’s personal loot I intend to keep it and that’s it.
It can’t happen in personal loot. Someone can cry as much as he/she wants but if I don’t wanna give it it’s my loot. With master loot I don’t have choice. I can be against it , but still someone else is assigning loot.
Master loot is is basically a system on top of RNG. Boss drops prices you need and you roll for it which is random. Then even if you win the roll there is someone deciding if you get it or not. That’s
Raiding with a guild, or even playing wow at all is a choice.

Also, be careful with saying your defending “states rights”, as that sounds to many people where I live that sounds like you’re defending something different.
Said by the person who never met an opinion he disagreed with that he didn’t feel morally obligated to shout down, even when he had to manufacture fake data to support his beliefs.
This kind of thing is why ML should never return. Guilds will always screw people over given the chance. No player should have say/control over the rewards of another player. Even 100% guilds have no business with that kind of control.
The game has never been more toxic on the subject or lost more subs than when they took out ML. So it should probably be brought back for the health of the game and not affect PLers.
I can’t imagine living in the mind-space where you think the worst thing that has ever happened to this game is removing the ability to take a pair of boots from someone else.
