ML would only really work in a guild setting and even then…only for the very best guilds. I’ve seen it in classic. There are lots of loot council guilds that have no business using that loot system.

Blizzard builds systems for all groups, not just good or bad ones. Not just successful or unsuccessful.

Sure, but they also take them away because bad guilds were trying to copy what good guilds were doing. Unless you’re in a guild that is making fast progression, personal loot is what you want.

Keep in mind:
Most of the arguments against masterlooter are the same arguments that were, and still are, used against same sex marrige, or trans bathroom rights. (I am not supporting these arguments or that viewpoint, just acknowledging it exists) The entire argument boils down to:

“I don’t like it, so you shouldn’t be able to.”

How is what happens in my guild in our private raid/discord your business?

The mentioning of the loot tables is a separate issue that really requires some mental gymnastics to connect to PL, and even if you manage to connect them, they are only situationally and remotely connected in terms of coincidence.

Why are you being rude for no reason now?
PL and an abundance of items that aren’t class specific being connected doesn’t require any mental gymnastics unless you consider walking straight “gymnastics”, which it might be for some people, but those are usually physically handicapped in some way or another.

Agreed, which is why I consider the very fact that PL hasn’t been changed incredibly silly, given how the removal of GML was mainly aimed at removing splitraids.

There’s no way, no loophole, no nothing to make GML with 100% guild groups only work in pugs. The second somebody from a different server joins the group, it’ll end up being PL. And the second a boss gets engaged, changing from PL to Master Loot doesn’t do anything.

Not in any of the replies to me. And in the others, you’ve made exactly one, which is people being “scammed”, aka loot being “stolen”, and paraphrased that point several times, now claiming that it’s different points, while at the same time claiming the only issue with PL is loot restrictions.

Oh, and news flash: algorithms can be just as corrupt. They’re written by people.

No loot council decision would ever be subjected to the same amount of scrutiny, quality control and proofing an algorithm would, this comparison is frankly laughable.
The other thing is, if you realize the algorithm doesn’t work properly, you can fix it instantly ACROSS THE WHOLE GAME. It can only get better over time.

That’s a 0 sum game. Regardless of the system, a similar amount of people would get the short end of the stick, you’re not solving anything. You’re arguing that we should undress Jake to dress up Jacob in that regard. There’s not gonna be “more” loot because it’s in ML, either way some people are getting shafted. Why should we re-introduced needless community friction over it? Just so people can gear 1 or 2 week faster? What’s the hurry?
Nobody’s loosing anything to anyone else, it’s the same game and loot system for everyone, no one has any advantage over somebody else in this instance.

this community has proven its not capable of not being a toxic dumpster when it comes to control over loot. ML likely not coming back and even i dont agree the game is probably better off for it.
