I’m going to start here since everything above either boils down to PL trading restrictions. The mentioning of the loot tables is a separate issue that really requires some mental gymnastics to connect to PL, and even if you manage to connect them, they are only situationally and remotely connected in terms of coincidence.

Now.

Arguments have been made against all versions of ML because it will absolutely be weaponized against players when the chance arises for it to be. Go take a stroll around classic if you need a referesher.

They’ve said in the past that they don’t want splitraids to become a thing. Also there’s the usual “playtime metrics” argument which may be a point, not sure about it.

Not wanting split raids to be a thing is a bad reason for the very reason that splits still exist.

Also, let’s be real honest. It seems that the loudest ones calling for ML are people who are mythic raiding or at least claim to be. I’m going to just flat out say that play time metrics don’t matter to that crowd. They are going to play a lot regardless.

Fair enough, and the entire first part of this that I quoted is conjecture based as well. I still think that enough issues arose out of ML screwing people that blizzard took action.

I did, but a lot of the points I’ve made are like…1200 posts up. This thread devolved quickly into people who are advocating for ML demanding to see people’s achievements and ridiculing their arena accomplishments (or lack thereof.) my enthusiasm for engagement with this thread has waned because people are arguing in bad faith and/or being completely intellectually dishonest.

Good luck in your advocacy, I wish you the best but I absolutely hope you don’t get your wish.

Raid leader can’t say you have to give someone that live ce of gear, unless you need it. But with ML even if you win the roll there is high chance some “I need some for badly” meowing girl of RL’s friend will get it. Besides that it’s rng like you said.

I don’t feel bad when someone gets something and doesn’t want to trade even if he has no use for it. But I know the pain when RL gibes it to the new girl or some personal friend

They could still say it, doesn’t mean the person will listen, but they could probably still say it.

This is bad practice coming into play which can still happen even with PL. The PL will probably give their gear to some meowing girl of RL friend over somebody who really needs it.

“Give that big upgrade to me OR ELSE”, then it is a power that can and will be abused.

The player with the loot can’t be forced to giving it up. The, “Or else,” can mean leave the group/guild but that person still gets that item. With ML, that person won’t get anything unless no one else wants it.

Again, it’s more about player agency over their loot.

Some people want agency over other peoples loot too. for the good of the collective! We only give loot to loyal party members comrade.

With that in mind, PLNR completely renders no1 obsolete. Nothing would prevent me from making a full paladin raid group and gear the one paladin that I intend to bring in mythic raid. They tried (and failed) to stop split runs. They are not gonna make it incredibly viable to do it.

At this point Imo they should give up. It’s clear that no matter what they do to try and curb splits in the world first race the top guilds will just do something more degenerate each time. So Imo they should stop trying and if they want to funnel full heroic gear to each character then who cares? It’s like 200 people total involved in top end guilds so who cares.

It’s not like we won’t be more geared when we get to bosses 4 nerfs later anyway so it isn’t a tuning issue since we don’t kill the same bosses they do really already

they could limit how many pieces from a single run you can slot. That would stop it. They can do a lot of things, they have the code base.

It’s the RWF crew they are going to do split runs, They are going to do degenerate things, They are all going to individually log like 90+ hours per week in the game during that time, We should not be basing anything around what they do and don’t do.
