Did you had fun getting time limited items? Would it affect you now if someone else gets it , maybe easier ? I don’t understand why is this such problem if someone gets something later then when it was current content
It wouldn’t be lying, it would be changing their mind based on player feedback. Blizzard does that all the time. I’d rather they tweak the game based on player feedback than have everything be set in stone forever.
I didn’t suffer. The time limit is literally what motivated me to get what I can.
It’s like something in the real world with a limited duration. You ever see the first pokemon movie in theaters as a kid for the gold mewtwo, or w/e? That was part of what got kids rushing to the movie–the exclusive collectible. I see this as the same.
How does it effect you that he has something you can’t have ?
I mean that would be truth if they say one thing but do other thing . In future they shouldn’t create limited content. If someone wants to get it earlier here you go. If not do it later
Yes it would be lying on their end. It was advertised as time exclusive. To change that would be lying.
Nope, I always felt stuff like that was just cheap marketing ploys and didn’t wanna fall for it. FOMO doesn’t affect me, I’d rather people just have the same opportunity to get the things they like in a long running MMO, rather than be punished because they weren’t playing the game at the right time.
It doesn’t at all, I don’t care tnh. I just don’t understand cry babies
If you don’t care then why post about it at all ?
I didn’t post , I agreed when it comes To limited content . I’m just saying I don’t understand cry babies who took this game to serious .
At the end of the day it’s just a game. Many other games have some stuff limited when you pre order the game , but usually let players get all other stuff whenever they want.
When I said post I mean respond to the thread , but blizz has Ben extremely consistent about limited time rewards being just that in wow , so I wouldn’t look to other games for how blizz handles there own game . And it is just a game I agree there tho we are on opposite sides of this argument
I am all for opportunity and fairness when it makes sense. But it was advertised as existing for a limited time…so I wouldn’t call it FOMO.
Should Blizzard also make old AotC and CE rewards available? Or PvP elite sets? Or the MoP challenge sets…WoD challenge weapons?
There’s generally something new to replace the old challenge, and I think that is what’s missing. But sometimes, it feels pretty nice to have something that you can only get while you can. I’d like to think my past choices had value–I listened to the rules.
Edit: Just FYI, I do understand. I got the main ones I wanted, and I’d feel like I missed out on something great had I not. That is a terrible feeling–one that I felt after WoD.
On the bright side, there will likely be more challenges in the future, as mage tower wasn’t the first (though the first solo one). And another positive is that you still have access to all of the skins/recolors that are not tied to a timer of the past. I don’t have a strong stance on “nothing for the new players,” just that my time has value. I’d be down for recolors of the same exact weapons in a new challenge for that reason. As long as my time wasn’t spent rushing for no reason at all.
But it’s not the same opportunity because the challenge is different due to BFA class design being different.
Yeah, I’d have no problem with any of that. I have some of those and I wouldn’t feel like other people having any of those would diminish me having them at all.
I’d love to see other people with Netherwhelps out and about, I feel like I never see any pals for mine
Good for you. I feel otherwise. The rewards would be diminished if they suddenly became up for grabs for everyone.
How would you feel if the weapons came back with complete recolors? Not better, not worse–but distinctly different. Same exact weapons–only new colors tied to a new challenge.
I do feel bad that you don’t have the opportunity–I love the ones that I use. I’m just trying to find a reasonable middle ground. And then hope that Blizzard agrees with a reasonable middle ground
I guess it just depends on your reasoning for wanting those rewards. I want them because I think they look cool. Other people having them wouldn’t diminish me having them and thinking they look cool.
But if you only enjoy them because other people don’t have them, I guess that’s on you. Seems kinda silly to me tho.
I’d be fine with some recolors. Maybe the new tower challenge thing in Shadowlands will do something like that, that’d be neat. Because yeah, like I said, it’s not really about the rarity/uniqueness for me, I don’t really care about that. It’s purely just a looks thing and making my character look how I want through transmog customization. I’ve dressed my character in cool looking common green items before and liked that better than how some purple/legendary gear looks.
Has nothing to do with others. You keep assuming that my enjoyment comes from saying no to others when in fact it’s more about me seeing a challenge and being happy about completing it while it was available. For them to switch that decision would mean that me completing the challenge and having the sense of achievement along with it within a certain timeframe is now greatly diminished because now it’s up for grabs. Which means that I spent hours wiping multiple times when I could have just chilled and done it whenever.
It was time exclusive because it was meant to challenge the current iteration of the classes in Legion. That includes Artifact Weapons and Legendaries which are now both gone. So it should rightfully stay in the past.
I guess I just don’t agree. If Blizzard made something I have that’s time exclusive available again, I’d be happy other people didn’t have to suffer through the pressure of trying to get it in time and now they can get it, too. It wouldn’t even cross my mind that it would ruin my “sense of achievement” because I’d still have it regardless if it was made available again.
At the end of the day I have no problem with people having the same things in WoW that I do, whether they’re time exclusive or not. I think it’s more fun to see people customize their characters in cool ways with transmogs or bring out mini pets that you also have, or share having the same mounts. I’d rather enjoy doing that with someone else than feeling special because I have something other people don’t have.
Because the whole point was we were told they were time sensitive. That increases value. Blizzard said: “These will be going away.” Other people having them after they were gone would mean Blizzard lied. We were told “this is going away, get it now before it’s gone”. Blizzard has to uphold that.
