Bring back Era Clone Service MEGATHREAD!

The fact is the data is permanently deleted and the service is not available. You can’t disagree with facts, wait a moment, you’re American and Americans do that all the time.

Americans never let facts get in the way of a good rant. A certain ex-president shows that to be true.

Heard the same about the vanilla data… and here we are.

Again with this? They are using the Legion server software not the original 2004 software.

The data for the world was on every single disc from the original game.

Again, I’ve proven you wrong.

Why do i still have the vanilla disks? The info was there, they just wanted to use legion.

Actually the client side software was on the disk but not the server side software which was tweaked so often that it changed so much from the original and that’s why they said the Classic Vanilla server software was gone.

comparing actual game code required to run the client/server to your character data is not the brilliant retort you think it is :expressionless:

Works for me. Like I said, I’ve got no horse in this race so I’m just keeping the thread rolling. Thanks for participating, you’re a doll!

Lets say they bring back cloning, and now you can freely clone your characters. What good will that do? Classic Era is here to stay… so there is no need to copy your toons. Why do you want duplicates of the same character?

Bring back the cloning service!! I have a 60 warrior that I want to play so bad! I will pay good money to be able to use him again!

Do you have a blue post thread where they said the data was permanently deleted? I would hope it would just be archived in case of historical needs. As long as the database entries have backup dates, characters can be restored.

This really comes down to the cost profit analysis from blizzard. How much manpower hours would it take to restore the database, bring characters up to current era patch levels and resynchronize the character names in case some had name changes. If enough transactions can be forecasted to offset the cost and make a profit, maybe even bring back canceled subscriptions, then blizzard will do it.

The Character Clone service has been retired. All clones that were not activated before July 26, 2022 were deleted.

It’s called a blog.

The Classic Era version of the character will be permanently deleted and unavailable for cloning.

If you read the linked post it says

The service will go on sale shortly before it’s gone for good, allowing you one last chance to be in two places at once.

I would pay for a clone service now that I see that people are actually playing Classic Era, I spent many months of playtime on my character while ranking and did AQ and Naxx on him and I really want to play my character again. Really hope they bring this back

dude, right here. do you see that there’s a problem with this statement?
you only want to clone now that people are actually playing?
why didn’t you clone before… to help actually create a living realm more people would want to play on… :expressionless:

So what, why would he play a game that’s dead. It’s busy now and he wants to play. Y’all acting like internet Dads telling the kids they needed to do their chores before they can play is hilarious. They don’t give two craps about your silly lectures.

Everything u say just shows ur gate keeper mentality. Of course he wants to clone now that it’s alive. Who wants to be a guinea pig for blizzards era server. The stipulations of having to pay money for a clone, how do u think that’s the right way to start off a community. Paying $15 a month just to play and another $10 for a chance that classic era will come alive. Please tell me how strong was the community when you cloned? That’s right classic era was a joke more or less a meme for season of mastery. Just stop you sounds like a bitter middle aged man, gate keeping his prized 2004 video game char. It’s almost comical to read your responses q

nothing is stopping them from playing
but the fact is, they didn’t help out when times were tough
they abandoned classic era. that’s what happened
and guess what? the penalty for that is losing your character. time to start over fresh. :expressionless:
