I think they should just write a routine that clones back all the characters that never played past 60.
Bring it back please, Iâll pay you moneyâŚ
Hurry up and take my money!
Ewwww, cooties!
Most of us are, but itâd be nice to play our originals as well.
I had one that was just entering BWL and one entering MC when I took my leave. Two with epic mounts, and a couple fresh 60 with 40 mounts. My goal would be to continue progressing them with a guild, I donât like or do GDKP.
You guys and your hyperbole⌠itâs almost like watching mainstream news.
Clones please
Itâs true, you still have your characters, on Wrath.
I would like to know the reply he got about his ticket.
The character was deleted from classic vanilla. You know, the place where we were safe from character deletion due to shutdown. Your point is meaningless. I said nothing about the wrath abomination that exists.
Actually since you didnât choose Era they were never there. edit: You didnât have to pay to choose.
They were progressed naturally like back in 2007/8 from Classic to TBC then to Wrath because you didnât choose when you had the chance, 13 months of chance.
Classic Era realms were new, not the progression realms and the normal thing was the progression to TBC and wrath.
Ah, so Classic has become retail, and youâre fine with that.
Classic is not retail, itâs just progressing on some realms, especially if PEOPLE didnât choose which realm type to play on. It was an active choice to do it but now Era is thriving people like everyone here saying âBring back clonesâ want to jump on the bandwagon.
They just need to start over. Cloning is not coming back the data is gone, and people need to accept that, not make up conspiracy theories that the data is still there and just hiding.
Youâre missing the point. In the beginning it was implied that our characters would be secure on a âforeverâ server. They used âwe wonât shut down your characters like private servers, weâll keep the lights on no matter how few play. What were they supposed to think.
Those who stopped playing before this changed into a cloning money grab had no idea that it would be otherwise.
People come in here trying to blame them for not making a choice that they were unaware of and telling them they have no reason to be disappointed.
Thatâs just rubbish.
No such thing was ever promised for Era, that was for the 2019 Classic. Which progressed to TBC and Wrath, just like it did back in the original.
Yes, that was during Classic 2019, not after Era was released. They kept that promise.
It wasnât just a money grab, people could choose Era FOR FREE! But now since itâs become popular they want to pay for a clone. Do they even know when the snapshot was?
Inactivity and Procrastination are still a choice.
Edit: Yes, they have a right to be disappointed but they donât have the right to expect a long dead service to be returned. If people want it back they should make a suggestion ingame.
I disagree.
âIf you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.â - Freewill - Rush.
In fact, most people chose not to clone and that is definitely a choice.
I see it like buying a cheese sandwich then leaving it to go mouldy and then saying âno, I wanted a ham sandwichâ instead and demanding the shop give you a new one.
I paid for mine, just in case this very scenario ever happened. Still have both my character cloned to Classic and in Wrath. Some people donât think far enough ahead
Man, i won the hungering cold on the lockout after the snapshot. I think i should still get it on my era cloneđ. Oh wait, you guys didnât clone your 60âs? That was short sighted of you. I feel your pain but you made a choice. I did not choose to wait for the hungering cold just had bad rng or am a bad player or something not my faultđ.
Really hope blizzard brings back the cloning service. I had a lot of fun going into TBC and saw the classic servers were dead, and ended up not cloning my priest which spent probably days worth of play time in naxx I thought they, blizzard, may end up shutting those servers down eventually and didnât want to waste the money. Given the resurgence and itch to play again, this time without the progression rush, has me looking forward to another go around but wishing desperately to clone my 60 back. Happy to pay 25-50 bucks for Blizzard to re-activate the DB again for a paid clone. I hope they choose to allocate some resources to accomplish this. Thanks for the memories Blizz, I would appreciate the clone service back.
You tell em!
I got deployed right before the clone service was offered, and did not have a chance to clone, I played some of TBC, got to 70 on a character but really want to be able to clone my stuff back and replay some ERA.
Still, hard disagree.
