More dungeon content in general would be great. Shadowlands launched with 8 dungeons.
Burning Crusade launched with either 14 or 15, I don’t remember the exact number.
And you can say that Burning Crusade re-used tilesets, sure, and some of the dungeons sucked, sure, but it also had some really awesome dungeons, and it had twice as many so even only half are good, that means every single Shadowlands dungeon has to be as good or it is outclassed in terms of overall high quality content. I do think all the Shadowlands dungeons hold up well to be fair, but even Shadowlands has the Venthyr dungeons that are both basically the same thing - Vampires doing Vampire stuff, except one is in tunnels and one is out in the open.
And obviously it isn’t impossible to launch with more than 8, because Legion launched with 10 IIRC and then followed up with the knock-out punch Kara pretty quickly. Tazavesh looks okay but it’s coming like 7-8 months after the expansion and isn’t even close to as good as Kara. Tazavesh is like solid but not in the same league IMO.
They will never get rid of the timer, that would be admitting that they were wrong (which they never do).
In fact, they are doubling down on the timer by adding one to Torghast. I bet they are already considering adding timers to mythic raids, world bossess and world quests for future expansions.
The timer is obnoxious. They could have just had some sort of combat timer and limited use hero or something for the dungeon. If someone dcs or needs to go to the bathroom, it’s an automatic fail. Honestly, if you’re not able to take breaks from the game, the game is doing it wrong. WoW is not a competitive esport game, and you should be allowed to take a break.
Obviously - it rewards heroic/mythic level raid loot while being trivial difficulty below 15. If you don’t kill a boss in a raid, you get nothing. If you fail to time a M+ you get boosted ilvl loot from the GV as a participation trophy to make you feel better. Even if you fully clear the raid, you still don’t get anything higher ilvl than what drops in the raid - unlike M+.
We’d need an entirely different game at this point. WoW has considered how to increase difficulty and the route they chose is timed content. CC is now for PvP only other than the occasional interrupt in PvE.
I don’t know why people say silliness like this. Have you run an Inspired Mists? You absolutely use plenty of CC and interrupts and soft CCs.
Just because you don’t use 5 hard CCs on every single pull while sipping a chug of water between pulls and dealing with Bob going to go get a sandwich every 5 minutes doesn’t mean you don’t use more tools than you used to. You absolutely do.
I get the sense you people don’t even play M+ when you say nonsense like this.
The issue is it’s a waste of time and feels unrewarding. Everything they do in the game just feels needlessly tiresome and penalizing.
SL is gimp.
M+ is a joke feature. It is just challenge mode with rewards. If you removed the gear rewards, no one would ever bother with it. A lot of people are doing M+ only because it is a reliable path to gear.
Man, it would be really nice to have a form of group content I could enjoy again. Mythic plus is zerg rush by intentional design. Current 5 mans are zerg rush by poor design. There’s nothing there for people who want to chill except apologia.
The cynic in me says that the playerbase has simply changed and that people will fight to find a way to zerg rush regardless of what happens. But the other part of me wants to hope that if you actually punish people for playing stupid more, people will chill at least a bit and more will actually let the tank pull. And that would probably be enough for me to enjoy tanking again.
So just to be clear, you are complaining about m+ not being rewarding enough on rare occasions when someone dc’s. Then you go and say people only do it for the rewards. Do you even know what you are arguing about right now?
