I miss the 5 mans from Cata. Anybody remember Jindo? Or the guy who would morph into animals like fang and claw. Those ZG dungeons were brutal.
You can’t effectively do this though. You will burn through keys until you’re running 0s and 2s. And your progress will stagnate.
Better yet get e-sport garbage out of MMORPGs. Let’s not pretend here we all know the main reason M+ exists is to give PvE it’s own competitive e-sport. If they wanted to make dungeons meaningful there were tons of ways to do that without making them greater rifts from Diablo III.
Im sick of the players who enjoy that crap coming into lowbie runs and causing one laughable wipe after another thinking its a good idea to pull 4 fearing mobs all at once, LOL.

I agree with this post. Mythic+ feels like it was developed for the players that want continuous challenge outside of raiding. I love Mythic+, and it can be a ton of fun. However, there is a great nostalgia that lingers when I think about traditional 5-mans like the troll dungeons. That’s when dungeons were truly fun and players were less critical of each other’s performance. The changes to the game have only influenced and encouraged harsh comparisons and judgments against other players and their abilities (or lack thereof) in the game’s raids or dungeons.
The first time I ran into consistently toxic players was when the fricken 5 mans could be done with the finder in Wraith. Sure people could be irritating other times but that is when it finally showed me how obnoxious people could be on a regular basis. Reason is that by the time you gathered people to run a dungeon the old way it was a near guarantee that the people you were running with were mature enough TO BE PATIENT and why be obnoxious to your group because being kicked after waiting for an hour wasn’t worth being a twerp. The finder on the other hand was loaded with all the people who were in a hurry and obnoxious because of it and people could put the azzhat on freely because you could always just hop in the finder again.
If they did bring back 5 mans then I would suggest not incorporating it into the finder at all. Let it go for an xpac just to see how it goes. Make them about 2 hours long with the ability to make a little gold from them so a small group of friends can run it, have fun and still be lucrative enough to be worth the time doing it. Loot should be appropriate for the content level with RNG chances for better things at the final boss…no master loot, sorry ninjas.
I loved the old pre-Wrath LFG dungeons, however I also loved the Keystones in Legion. I think for me the turning point was BFA when Blizz realized they could monetize Keystones with their stupid “Mythic Dungeon International” Now dungeons are specifically built with M+ in mind meaning it sets the pace for trash and ugh the “seasons” I hate the entire setup I truly do. I’m already barely looking forward to SL but if the dungeons and the M+ are as terrible as they were in BFA I’m going to have to look elsewhere for entertainment.
@ Zarrena - I agree with you. I stressed this same point in another thread. Mythic+ is a narrow-minded way of doing dungeons and takes the full enjoyment out of them. I miss the traditional 5-man dungeons where we could gear up properly and still enjoy every aspect of the dungeon instead of rushing through it and only earning better gear by how quickly you get through it.
If that’s how you approach Mythic+, you’ll fail.
There’s a metric ton of CC in Mythic+, it’s just not sap/sheep/hex/banish.

We seem to be about the same place progress wise, but a metric ton of CC? Where we single target mobs down? This is not what I see on successful runs.
Unless your definition of CC is grip or rounding up mobs to be AoE’d and not CC’ing mobs out of the fight, I’m really at a loss.
You don’t see stuns, interrupts, disorients, knock backs, slows, incapacitates going off in your +17 runs ? Wow, you must be playing a different game with +17s too. Sounds like a boring one.

When tell someone to CC a target most likely your going to get a sheep, not an interrupt.
No, it’s not. It’s the literal definition of CC.
You when you say “I hate PvP because of all the CC”, no one talks about being polymorphed my dude.
Stuns, Incaps, Fears, Slows, Snares, knockbacks are all forms of CC. Always have been. What you’re thinking of is “Hard CC”, aka : polymorph, sap, repentance, cyclone.
Ok, pretend that I said hard CC then.
And I’ll pretend that if you said “CC that mob” before a pull you’d get an interrupt from someone.
Well then you’d be strawmaning me and we wouldn’t have anything further to discuss.
