Not really.
You’d need mechanics within the dungeon that forced CC.
IE, having 2 mobs apply 50% armor reduction debuffs and 2 mobs dealing massive physical damage blows, forcing you to sheep and sap some of them.

In your experience it isn’t. For me, the timer is a secondary element that adds excitement and intrigue to this format of play. It’s what makes M+ enjoyable and fun.
I never said or implied anything of that nature.
Again, all anecdotal.
I have failed many keys and no one was angry in the majority of them. Failed a +20 the other night with pugs and we all sat around and talked about what we could have done better. We talked about what we did good, and what might have gone wrong. I knew none of these people prior to this run. We all left with a better idea of how to complete the key next time.
Failing a key is a part of the experience. If you think ever failed key is a negative experience, clearly the content isn’t for you. That isn’t how I feel, so please stop imposing your experience of keys on this matter.
Also, you would have to bring back healer mobs into mythics to make them more like 5 mans.
IE: there should be 1-2 mobs in a pack that aoe heal or nuke heal other mobs so you have to cc, kick chain, or focus fire that mob down instead of just trying to aoe.
Like I said, just because the negative outcome isn’t extreme, doesn’t make it NOT negative. It still affects people. Doesn’t matter how much, it’s basic psychology. Nobody enjoys negative outcomes, that’s a fact. I wouldn’t expect someone who still actively plays to comprehend that, though.
Wrong. Anything else?
So… you’re not actively playing and still posting on the forums. Cool. Why are you here exactly?
Other than you’re wrong? Nope.
You don’t use your brain much, do you?
Not responding to comments where I showed you were wrong doesn’t make you right.
Seems like you’re the type of person you yourself wouldn’t like.
Responding ignorantly to comments and making a fool of yourself still makes you wrong.
Ah, the ol’ “I know you are, but what am I?” at least you tried.
You were flat out wrong. You have been this entire time. You have tried to force your opinion on this topic with nothing but your opinion.
The entire topic has been about M+ which you have little to no experience in and from what I can tell now, you don’t even play the game anymore. Why you want to argue about it is beyond me. Your experience is completely different then mine. What you feel is a negative, I don’t. That’s what this boils down to. You can say ‘fact’ all you want, but that doesn’t make it factual. These negative aspects are YOUR opinion. Nothing factual about it.
No, it just seems like you are saying you don’t do M+ because of rude people, and that’s exactly what you are. Pathetic. You are the problem.
Nah, that’s you.
That’s your opinion and It’s wrong. Just like most of your opinions so far.
Yeah…no, never did that. You took it that way and became offended.
I made a simple factual statement. You’re the one getting bent out of shape and wanting to argue.
Okay?
Not even close, but okay.
No, It’s basic psychology. You’re just being willfully ignorant.
Not entirely, but if it makes it easier for your poor little mind to say that by all means, go with it.
That’s your opinion, tho
Nah.
I personally don’t see failing a key as a negative outcome. I see it as a challenge to overcome. And the only time I ever get anxious on a key is when I overestimated myself, and start overcompensating for the run instead of just saying “F-it I’ll make it up in the next key”
I don’t pug a whole lot of M+ myself, however, it’s usually only about 1 in 10 pugs where I find a toxic group member. In most of those situations, I’d probably have to chaulk it up to me miss understanding them as it’s difficult to catch the sarcasm via text when you don’t know the person.
As far as #MakeHeroicsGreatAgain, it can’t happen in the current state of the game. The current Mythic dungeons (non keyed) is as close as you’re going to get. Those are a challenge until you get raid geared, which isn’t that difficult anymore since the emissary rewards scale to the normal raid level.
You say you want a challenging 5 man dungeon, so go in and do the Mythic version, not the Mythic key version. Go give Op Mechagon a go, or better yet, do Hard Mode Op Mechagon.
For people that don’t want to push content, the Mythic 0 dungeons are a fun challenge. No timer involved. Just get together with a group of your friends and do it. However, for the rest of us that have already ran the dungeon dozens of times it’s too easy and we need something to push us hence the timer and scaling difficulties.
The keystone level tells me where my level of knowledge is at. The timer helps to tell me when I am ready to move up in challenge.
On a final note. 5 mans haven’t gotten easier over time. Players have gotten better. More classes have tools to deal with situations better. To make it more like it was back in vanilla/BC the groups would require 2-3 healers/nukes minimum in every pull with 2-3 melee mobs that random agro to force CC and focus dps.
I don’t miss the days of a 60 minute 3 boss dungeon because each pull took 5 minutes to setup (exageration). Also worth noting, I’ve been aoe tanking 5 mans without CC since BC.
Done that, was fun once but unfortunately the loot is so bad you get better loot from trivial world quests such as circle drawing and pet battles.
Except HM Mech can give you a 430, the other drops are 415. WQ drop what 385 unless you have the emissary cache with loot for that day. I mean if you’re going to lie be convincing.
If you’ve completed HM Op Mech, where’s the achievement for it?
Also my suggestion was for people asking for challenging 5 man content without a timer, not for people loot wh-ing.
One 430 head, off the last boss. Every other boss in the instance drops 415, whether hardmode or not.
I assume because I did it on my horde main and not my lvl 12 void elf alt it’s not showing up.
However, you can clearly see Aerial Unit R-21/X in the mount tab, so nice try.
However my point still stands. But you won’t actually address that.
Interesting because the achievement shows up on all my toons horde and alliance, so i never thought to double check the mounts tab. Multiple accounts per chance?
No, only have the one account and all my characters are on it. Actually, i think it’s because I haven’t logged into the alt for over a year. Looks like it’s updated now.
I remember Cataclysm attempting to do this, where on heroic, cc on basically every pull was mandatory, and was rejected by the community.
The days of WoW having RPG dungeons are over pretty much. The Diablo style AOE grinding dungeons is what the current audience of the game want.
Most of the people that like traditional style MMO dungeons are either playing Classic or left WoW altogether.
