Bring back 5mans

But it does in other MMOs.

Weird, we ran an enhancement shaman on our heroic dungeon team as well as an elemental in TBC.

Hyperbole. I ran TBC heroics a lot and we took anyone that signed up. They weren’t that hard. Come on Akston, you can do better than this wink

Don’t care. I am talking about WoW. WoW would need its combat completely redesigned to make a support class work. Removing the timer from m+ wouldn’t do it.

Weird. I ran a +10 on time with an enhancement shaman and bear druid.

This is about “meta” remember? Just because you can complete content with something, doesn’t mean it was meta. You brought up meta. Don’t change this to a non meta conversation suddenly.

We are talking about meta. If you want to talk about non meta groups, fine.

But please stay on topic, especially when its your own topic.

You were complaining about support classes in a m+ meta line up. If you don’t want to talk about a meta line up, that is completely fine. Plenty of non meta line ups in m+ still work.

I played enhance in BC and ran dozens of heroics, but I also had quite a few friends to run with including a tank that didn’t like to use CC because that was too easy.

Sure, but that didn’t make enhance shaman a “meta” class for BC dungeons. Which was the entire point of my reply. The lack of timer did not make support classes meta.

Yeah cause utility is dead in mythic plus…

Knock back classes never get invited on sanguine weeks… never.

First off, I’m not advocating anymore for the removal of M+ or it’s timer. I’m merely pointing out that class diversity and class uniqueness has suffered for this content. You can’t deny that is difficult to balance 36 specs around M+.

Um, no one cared about the “meta” in TBC, those dungeons just weren’t that hard. The meta didn’t matter back then, because TBC heroic dungeon content is completely different content than M+. M+ content is like an e-sport, so people care a lot more about the Meta now than they did with TBC heroics.

Wow was a different game back then. I don’t even know why you even dragged up that example? Different time, different game. I never once talked about the TBC meta.

I was giving an example on how when WoW had a support class with dungeons of no timers, a lot of people still preferred an ideal set up.

Removing the timer from m+, would not make a support class suddenly “meta” in WoW.

You stated a class like the LOTRO Champion wouldn’t be meta in current m+. I am saying it wouldn’t be meta period. In m+, in pre-m+ dungeons. In a m+ system with no timer.

Gimme, gimme, never gets.

Your blatant sarcasm is going to go right over most people’s heads…

Class balance in M+ only matters in the really high ones. You can take any 5 you want and get a 10 done for your max loot. All of these meta discussions lose meaning when you realize that those group arrangements only apply to the top 0.1% of mythic+ players.

I would settle for just this …

You clearly spend more time talking than playing.

What you are saying with mythic plus is like equating every mythic raid group to Method.

The weekly affixes allow for other classes to shine. I already pointed it out so I will explain in further detail which contradicts everything you are saying.

As for utility, on a week like this druids with typhoon that do marginally less damage are a better pick than a similar dps. Same thing with a DK or even the shammy that can knock trash out of sanguine.

Doing more dps is pointless if the trash just sit in sanguine and heal to 100%.

Druid tanks mobility is also a plus on this week.

You could break down every affix and how class utility is benefited by it. To say otherwise would suggest you dont play level appropriate/challenging mythic + content.

Fair enough. I think I was in error when I even mentioned the word Meta. What I meant is that these types of support classes wouldn’t be desirable in the M+ scene . Sometimes I feel like I’m responding to a bot. I’m not trying to be mean here. I think this is largely my frustration with responding to any of your posts.

You become so focused on what is exactly said than instead of trying to infer what people are trying to bring out. I get that it can be tough to do that with written text, but I think you are smarter than that!

Again, I chose the wrong words here. I don’t want this to get hung up on the meta here. When I said meta, I meant viable for M+. Poor choice of words on my part.

It’s Captain

Hey man, bottom line my point in posting in this thread was this.

As a fan of MMOs and table top DnD, I just don’t like M+. I feel like this content leaves out a huge portion of the casual player base and I feel like class design has suffered a lot because they need to be balanced around this type of content. I don’t care what they said about why they had to prune. I’m firmly in the camp, that they pruned classes to make room for M+ and trying to push WoW dungeons into the e-sport scene.

I harbor no ill will towards people that like that content, nor do I want to see it removed. As a fan of the game for many years, I’m just expressing my feedback to Blizzard, that is all. I’m glad that people like it and that it has made dungeons relevant for them the life of the expansion.

I like playing the forums more! I can’t even remember the last time I left my parent’s basement too.

Raids don’t have timers for completion. Are you saying those require no skill?

I fully support this.

I’ve never liked M+ at all.

If they did mechagon type dungeons with a hardcore mode for those who want a challenge that would be cool or hidden encounters. The whole timer + affixes just isn’t fun and blizzard has tried too hard to funnel M+ in a direction they want you to run this time around. Add in that there is an overabundance of trash in BfA dungeons and it’s a lose lose.

A lot of raid bosses have a mechanic that is the same as an enrage timer.

Adds, bad stuff on the floor, etc. Eventually you will be overan or unable to complete the encouter due to DPS which is time elapsed damage.

The number 1 rule I have learned of talking to people online, is that I will never assume they are implying anything.

The moment I do that, I will get hit with “omg, dont put words in my mouth”. So I make it a point to only go by what a person says. Then if there is a misunderstanding it can be cleared up by a person just clarifying their position.

But classes are clearly not balanced for m+. There is a specific meta for m+ because those classes bring unique things to the table. If classes were being balanced for m+, you wouldn’t see so many people wanting very very very specific group make ups.

Last MDI it was basically Prot War + Resto Druid + Double Rogue + wild card.

If classes were being balanced for m+, that set up would not have been like 98% of all groups.
