Seriously? We are going to get into arguing on the LITERAL meaning of “win” now? You think when they invent the term Pay to Win, they mean you absolutely have to achieve victory?
If you think that way I’m afraid that’s end of our conversation. I don’t think we are on the same intellectual frequency…
I didn’t say maybe getting an advantage, that came from you. It’s an advantage either way. Like I said, even if my skill level is lower, paying for better gears still give me better chances against you. That is still an advantage vs not paying.
Since the real definition of convenience was too much for you three I found another one for you guys.
Pay-2-win
Games where someone who pays with real money has such a huge advantage that its impossible for a free2player to keep up
Guy A: look, i got this ring with +25% attack power.
Guy B: Cool where did you get it
Guy A: you have to buy it from the item shop.
Guy B: you wanna sell it?
Guy A: i can’t, it’s not tradeable.
Guy B: are you serious? such a pay-2-win game…
Guy A: Look, I just beat you with my 475 gear
Guy B: How? everyone else is on 400
Guy A: I bought it with my wallet
Guy B: That’s not fair
Guy A: Say that to uncle franklin
The win I described there is victory since we are talking about a duel, which is not the same as advantage.
If you want to know what the term Pay to Win means, go read up on it in wikipedia. I have no interest in teaching you what implicit meaning is. If you want to be reading everything literally then I have nothing to say to you.
You have no interest in teaching me something you don’t understand yourself. Otherwise you wouldn’t be saying that buying in-game gear entirely through in-game means is pay to win.
But you can only buy the 475 gear if other people with high item level gear are farming Mythic content in order to have those 475 boes drop at all. They don’t just appear out of nowhere like actual pay to win gear would.
It isn’t. That’s why it is gaining an advantage which is the meaning of P2W. Victory does not = Advantage. and the P2W term is not interpreted in its literal meaning. Again, if you can’t understand implicit meanings then we are not on the same intellectual frequency.
Yes, and those people acquired it through proper channels. you are not gaining any advantage over them, they are the minority. But you are gaining advantage over the majority of players who are still on ilvl 400. Still P2W.
GuyB: I don’t need uncle Franklin i have enough gold I don’t need to pay real money for the convenience of something I will gain in a month or two. If you want to pay for that convenience that’s fine.
Lmao this guys only defense is Wikipedia! Too funny I posted an actual definition from Merriam-Webster dictionary and he would not take it. BUT his source is Wikipedia. People like this are the exact reason gamers have a bad reputation. Completely insane.
I already explained how paying money still gives you advantage even if you lose. But I guess you don’t know how to read.
How easy it is to earn gold has nothing to do with if people wants to P2W or not.
Them paying $20 and get the gold in 2 seconds is still much more advantageous than you farming for the gold for 2 months.
You seriously need to go look up some p2w games. There are lots. Paying doesn’t guarantee you win. It just affords you an advantage over players who don’t pay.
I took your ridiculous advice and looked up p2w on wiki. Its not helping you bud.
Pay2win
In some games, players who are willing to pay for special items, [downloadable content] or to skip cooldown timers may be able to gain an advantage over those playing for free who might otherwise never be able to access said items. In general a game is considered pay-to-win
