Botting is not a Problem

The botting is getting out of hand on WOTLK classic. The other night I spent several hours with my guild mates killing bots that were relentlessly running into Maraudon to farm vendor gold. Can blizzard do something about this? It really feels cringe.

The video here is from Shadowprey Village, we tracked them back to a vendor - killed the vendor - and then they started piling up. See for yourself.

botting appears to be a problem, then…

I think you might want to check your title there OP.

It doesn’t fit the narrative you wrote nor the video you posted.

Title is a reference to the end of the video where they sarcastically remark “botting’s not a problem!”.

On topic: It’s like this in BGs too. I’m leveling my Hunter in WSG this weekend and every match is at least 10 DKs in the BG and FD actually makes them walk away from you. So I’m winning all my matches by FDing in the middle and letting my Pet keep them all occupied while we cap. It’s hilarious and extremely sad.

I just got out a WSG that was more bots than actual players. It was pathetic.

They can’t. They literally can not. Here’s why. They waited too long, it’s too big of an issue now. It’s like cancer . Catch the cancer early enough, you can stop it from spreading and perhaps even cure it. Even anti-bot measure they have put in place was met head on by the bots. Bots got smarters and learned ways around the changes, or simply changed their method of farming/leveling to something else.

What you have to understand is that every bot has already RMT’d so much that even if they did get caught and banned, the cost of a new sub and another boost is just a drop in the bucket and something they can make back very quickly. Most bots also have 20+ accounts to bot from, just in case a few every do get caught, they have plenty of backups and it takes next to nothing for them to make more. The bots are back in action immediately because they have their backups, and the ones that got banned are back up and running nearly as quickly as they got banned. It’s like using a ladle to try and scoop out water from your sinking boat that has a hole it in. As quickly as you can scoop water out of the boat, the boat is just filling back up. Only way to save your boat is to patch the hole.

They’ve gone on record stating themselves that they don’t know how to solve the issue.

Lvl 80 bgs this morning AB 9 dks horde side 4 alli I assume all bots, Av had 18! on horde alli was like 5 again i assume all bots. Blizz is rather unwilling, incapable, incompetent, greedy, or some mix of all of the above when it comes to fixing it.

Looks like they are all waiting to get into a BG

LMAO this needs to be put on DVD and sent to Blizzard HQ. This is worse than I ever imagined

Sounds like as good a time as ever to farm out that Warsong Gulch rep for Justicar/Conqueror

wsg especially for cta weekend is a 50/50 chance of easy honor. so go for it lol.

either your team gets the bots. or the other one does.

If the latter, 3 flag it and on to next one. if the former, pretend to care for a few minutes to get some numbers…and then go watch youtube as its clear the 3-0 shut out is coming. soon hopefully.

these pop fast enough you can see even enough matches to make out good. If…you have the patience.

I didn’t lol. tried a few and said nah. botted and alliance fill ins. I’d not mind the alliance fill ins if they did it like retail and you were the race you merc’ed in as. stupid fat mask on head? nah.

I play on PVE servers so PVP titles are rare to come by. On a server full of Immortals, Twilight Vanquishers, Undying and of the Nightfalls, walking around with Justicar, Battlemaster or Of the Horde would be really unique.

If bots are running around the BGs, Justicar/Conqueror is probably the easiest of the 3 to farm.

Aaaand they unlocked the servers and gave free DK’s to fresh accounts

We’re paying an online sub. Our account should be tied to our identity and a physical landline

They dont care. They got their money. Blizzard’s scheme is to just release bullcrap to people to spike numbers before quarterly numbers or something pertaining to that.
Theres nothing anybody can do because they are making money… think about it. Theres literally no reason for them to stop. They probably don’t care if wow turns into an AI gold farm game for people to play on their phones which is probably what it will be eventually.

Yes they did which absolutely contributed however, even when DK’s weren’t even in the game yet, botting was still a major issue. They’ll just roll level 1’s and bot their way to max level on whatever is the quickest to level.

Good luck getting the general playerbase to agree with that.

Yes but no at the same time. You have to consider, if this was all about money to them, does it not make the most sense to actually bother banning the bots? This causes the bots to have to resub new accounts and repurchase a boost.

Yes they’re guilty of being incredibly greedy and doing things to inflate their quarterly earnings, but in terms of the bots … it makes much more sense for them to ban the bots knowing there’s an exact $65 PER BOT they ban.

Zero posts poster…

Come on bud. There are a million bot threads. You have to be a real tryhard to actually make new ones. LULz

Way easier to just bump old ones that are less than a month old (you can argue a ban then—“thirty days is only three pages down”)

Edit: Protip. Don’t type replies instantly. Come back later when the thread needs a bump
