I always ask myself this:
Who is supporting more bots created, the RMT gold buyer, or the people that buy cheap crafting mats / consumes in the auction house.
I mean, i bought like 1k stacks of dirt cheap herbs last week, to create ungodly amounts of glyphs and make profits in the 10000% range.
But after buying 200 stacks of Goldclover from a singular seller i highly doubt that this seller is a real human farming (especially since a stack of the cheap herbs on my server is < 3Gold each… who in their right mind farms this if not a bot)
And considering the hundreds of active raids on my server alone, just the amount of Speedpotions consumed each week must be astonishing, and im fairly convinced that the herbs for those potions are 99% botfarmed aswell.
I mean in the end the farmbots sell their earned Gold in RMT aswell, but could they sell all this gold if not for the majority of the community supporting their dirty trades with their auction house purchases ?
They should just sell epic flying outright IMO.
It’s not original Wrath, but that ship sailed before classic even came out (prepatch had dual spec which didn’t come out until TotGC phase IIRC).
Interestingly enough, I’m getting kicked from random bgs, playing as a DK while leveling. I assume it’s the stigma that all DKs are bots. It doesn’t give me the deserter debuff like it normally would if you were to be kicked on any other class, and I rejoin almost instantly - into the same bg with the same people who must have voted “botting”.
Yea, make it easier for people to purchase gold in a game that completely revolves around character progression. Sounds like a healthy decision instead of, you know, moderating the game to preserve its gameplay loop.
You’re just saying that because that was Blizz’s “fix” for retail. It’s not a real solution imo. If Blizz banned gold buyers, sellers would run out of places to turn to. this of course hurts Blizz subs the most and likely damages the volume of players, but they’re punitive measures that aren’t enforced.
Agreed. And why are people so concerned about token buyers? I rather they do it through legit means than financing the bot farms.
Not a fan of Blizzard but at least you cut out the middleman with tokens.
Assuming the bot situation is as bad on retail as it is on classic (I only play classic so no way for me to verify that myself), what action do you think Blizzard should take to fix the problem?
Because if they aren’t doing it on retail… what makes you think they will do it on classic?
