Sure but all the arguments people have raised against boosting are equally ridiculous.
I’ve asked many times for reasonable in game issues with the boost and noone has come up with anything.

If sunwell came out and blizzard introduced hyjal/black temple boosts at the same time… they would effectively be giving people the best gear.

At that point you can assume sunwell is not on farm… which means you need the BIS from black temple/hyjal to down it.

So… if they added it deep into sunwell patch it’d be ok, but not at the start?
So far it’s only 1 free 58 boost with poop gear. If every player gets a boost then it’s even playing field. Wouldn’t really call that pay to win.
Additional boosts would be different. Still, wouldn’t say it’s pay to win. More, pay for convenience.
He’s desperately trying to get anyone to agree with him about anything at this point, hypothetical or not.

Sunwell was the last patch.
If you introduced boosts giving people hyjal/black temple gear during the wrath pre-patch it wouldn’t be pay to win.

Why would it bother me that someone can get to level 70 with good gear for a cost when I’m busy planning on how to level to 80 with better gear for free?
