And now that alliance have invaded and crushed dinosaur territory they have a flying dinosaur to play with.
But its stilllllllll verrrrry strangeeeeee.
Hear me out, If the pterodax had electric nodes to show its been mind controlled that makes sense.
But a fully decked out zhandalri armored, trained pterodax would never get down with alliance.
They’re trained animals that can be trained equally by either side in a conflict. They have limited interest in people and even less in politics. But as for a metatorque style mount… the Zandalari wouldn’t have had any of those lying around that we could steal by yodeling at flower.
hogwash.
If you train a attack dog using a whole different dialect and someone attempts to train it, the dog is gana be confused as all hell or be super aggressive towards its new trainer.
BUT IF THERE WAS MECHANICAL MANIPULATION LIKE WITH GRONG…
maybe it would work. maybe.
You’re seriously over thinking this. The Zandalari have dinosaurs, so the mount was a dinosaur. Thats really all there is to it. If you want to give your dinosaur a backstory about who trained it, well fine… but it’s perfectly consistent for the meta mount to reflect the raid it comes from rather than the faction it goes to.
… Alliance have them as flight mounts in Vol’dun? Like, not just the Sethrak flight point, the main port flight port has Pterodax as well
(Also they’re not dinosaurs)
No i’m defending why its strange to me. The game needs consistency or its not immersive at all. The back bone of this game is its lore and it needs to be atleast considered in all actions.
is the flight master human? or sethrak?
Human. You get them after you deal with the Sethrek in the port
Sure, but if it’s only realistic for one faction to have it then it’s a lousy idea for a meta mount.
“cough”…
Human. You get them after you deal with the Sethrek in the port
that still makes sense. the sethrak teaches the human the manerisms to directly use these ptederoxs.
Now that being said, sethraks are completely diffrent from mylitary grade armored zhandalari pterodaxs trainers.
“cough”…
I have no idea what you’re trying to imply here. Do you think raid achievement mounts should only be useable by one faction?
that still makes sense. the sethrak teaches the human the manerisms to directly use these ptederoxs.

Uh, by ‘deal with’ I should have properly said ‘You turn the port into a crater and spend a bit of time cleaning bits of roasted, charred Sethrak off of your boots before doing the next quest’
You ‘deal with’ the Sethrak by basically killing them all
Also, let’s not forget this is the second Pterodax mount for a raid achieve, see the Skyscreamer from ToT which you had no problem taming in the pre-quests
Sure, but if it’s only realistic for one faction to have it then it’s a lousy idea for a meta mount.
Again, highly opinionated about what might be lousy or realistic. You always have the choice to not use a mount if you feel its not appropriate for your head canon. Other people may not agree with you and would be perfectly happy with their chance to ride around on a flying dino without having to level a horde to do it. In fact the general complaints of late seem to be that there have been too many horses and horde get all the cool mounts. Well… here, have a horde mount.
Alliance will receive a rainbow horse instead, it won’t be able to fly though, that’s asking for too much.
Well, Blizzard probably doesn’t want to go through the negotiations with Hasbro to pull that one off, true…
Also, let’s not forget this is the second Pterodax mount for a raid achieve, see the Skyscreamer from ToT which you had no problem taming in the pre-quests
okay you got me there.
However, voldune being a desert area theres a argument to be made about how much the pterodax relied symbiotically with the sethrak masters. So when they where ultimatly blown away they quickly needed to find another person with food.
highly opinionated about what might be lousy or realistic.
not really. we are pointing out clear situations in this lore that has holes.
staring
I WANT ONE.
NOW.
GIVE ME THAT NOW.
not really. we are pointing out clear situations in this lore that has holes.
You are waving your opinions around about why, “No i’m defending why its strange to me.” Well, it’s not strange to me. The mount is one that Zandalari have in abundance and one alliance would be very likely to liberate for their own use after their successful raid on the Zandalari capital.
there is a minion(pet) to go with it
thankfully the mount doesnt do this to dismount
Those legs don’t work do they… I take it they are not a part of the locomotion? My orcs/tauren would have an aneurysm mounting something like that.
