Now theres a new take on things, where did you see that? A source would be lovely.
My friend, my friend, this has nothing to do with the lore.
The people arguing lore are just picking at straws to get what they want: white blond haired blue eyed Tolkeinesque elves that fit their personal Warcraft fantasy. There is no reason beyond that. People are mad that Blizzard took their idea of high elves in a different direction than the old tropes, and want to flame about it. Itâs been the same thing for over a decade now.
Wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong, Wrong. Know your lore if youâre going to say stuff like this.
As PER IN GAME LORE, see here:
The early stages of the purge were left in the hands of Vereesa Windrunner, who instructed Alliance agents to pacify the Sunreavers in the sewers and eliminate the uprising inside the Sunreaverâs Sanctuary, to stop and kill a Magister attempting to withdraw assets from the bank and flee the city, to kill the shopkeepers who had refused to side with the Silver Covenant, and to either subdue or kill the dragonhawks in Krasusâ Landing, thus disallowing the Sunreavers a method of escape from the city. When the deeds are done, the Silver Covenant is mobilized to join in the purge, and Jaina calls in Alliance forces waiting at the Antonidas Memorial to battle the Sunreavers as well.[14]
Further:
" Here, Silver Covenant agents had taken to holding several Sunreaver civilians captive,[15] while others were attacking unarmed Sunreavers without explaining anything to them."
Told you guys the Alliance would try to justify it. Stop trying to claim that the Alliance has perfectly clean hands and does nothing wrong all of the time. Both the Horde and Alliance have blood on their hands, and itâs getting really annoying when people try to justify the purge as being nothing wrong at all. Thatâs like me saying that Teld is A-OK.
Youre lovely, remind me to send you some Young Mannoroth Blood for your services.
Then why would Void Elves make sense?
Because they have a much larger pool to draw from, they even mention in the quests and starting zone that their fellow researchers can finally join them without fear of persecution as well as multiple High Elf NPCs saying the same thing in the rift.
god can we get some more Alliance atrocities in this mother? Feelin way to clean over here and not enough morally grey.
Yes. I remember saying that exactly. The Horde definitely hasnât committed greater atrocities than the Alliance.
Not many others, Blizzard doesnât want to stain the hands of their âheroâ faction too much. sigh
Even Jaina states she has blood on her hands.
The problem is many alliance players have blinders on.
That was the one, singular part of the cinematic that I actually liked. The rest of it I hated, but Iâm glad for once she admitted she was wrong. No idea if sheâs referring to purge, but who knows.
I think Jaina knows ^.^
I thought that the purge in particular was what she was referring to after that Sunreaver confrontation.
Was she? I wasnât sure, I mean that would make the most sense in context, yeah. Youâre probably right.
I think you misunderstood what she was trying to say. She means that if Blizzard gave good lore reasons, then the goblins could join the Alliance.
Like for example, Sylvanas gets Gallywix to mine her loads of azerite, then after he does that she tries to kill him and the rest of the goblins. Then they run to the Alliance and Anduin graciously letâs them in.
So it would be potential future lore, not just current lore. But w/e
The High Elf leadership declared the kingdom was leaving the Alliance, the decision was followed and largely accepted by the Kingdomâs people. âWell yeah but not ALL of them!â is a fringe argument at best. Let him try to support it. /eyeroll
With the one caveat of High Elves will eventually have their blue eyes turn gold, as High Elves eyes change in regards to the magic they pull from. The original Sunwell was an arcane font, Sunwell 2.0 is holy, hence the gold eye option for Blood Elves. Because High Elves and Blood Elves are the same people.
Actually, what it argues for is that there seem to be quite a few people who want traitors to the High Elven race to become playable characters on the Alliance side.
On the plus side; at least those people are supporting another dark twist for the âgood guysâ.
Yo where can i get some of this blood? I want in.
You canât have any, itâs all mine.
Oi, you, hand ova the blud and i wont steal ur fancy pants goggles.
