Blood elves were cooler back in the day

And you can’t expect every blood elf to think the same way.

Don’t confuse “sinister” with “addiction” if you are goin going by the TBC cinematic.

But, I am sure this is just another “put the war back in warcraft” troll topics.

They did not, i recently played it and you only see blue and then when they become blood elves you see green.

The purple eye you see is a bug ( it also only happens after the sun well is destroyed) because if you click the unit the portrait clearly shows a model of the high elf with green or blue eyes only.

**you can try to refute my point with the models but there’s no purple eye blood elf or high elf portait in the game at all. **

Possibly not sinister, but they were certainly more morally ambiguous back when first introduced. Most of it of course due to their circumstances (i.e. the lack of a magical font to draw from as they were addicted to it, and the encroaching scourge on their lands)

ambiguous enough to feed on fel energy without reservation. Bold enough to imprison a N’aru and literally force it to grant them paladin capabilities. Are the points that come to mind. Though i think that sunwell plateau along with kael’thas’ betrayal was a wakeup call, and they changed some of their ways from then on (Mostly cough cough mana bomb cough cough)

It is not a bug. The redid the models and gave all elves more eye colors. Just like here. You are just gonna have to live with it. It’s based on what unit skins you use.

Don’t worry, you still are, to me.

I like the increased detail of the new character models, but I feel there aren’t enough good options. Lots of goofy or just not good looking faces. Drab hair colors, or brown color that has a tinge of green in it instead of a nice brunette color. Increased character model is welcome, but the lack of good options is not.

NONE OF THE PORTRAITS THAT ARE ZOOMED IN OF THE ELF FACES HAVE PURPLE EYES

This is crazy bro cause i played a whole map and kept seeing blue eyes on the purple rangers

Other people have posted that they get purple too. Just a new Blizz thing I guess.

It was nonsensical.
Such a drastic turn of a majority of people is nonosensical.

Going from: “Ew fel” to “yay fel!” is just weird.

It was more than enough, that the Blood Elves turned from taking their arcane magic from passive inanimate sources, to being able to straight up go up to another mage, and suck the magic straight up from that person - I did kinda want to see that ability more in action though. And it technically isn’t removed from the Blood Elves’ repertoire either.

Now THAT is cool, and more in line of what I would expect from a population turned desperate. Going straight for fel is just nonsensical - outside of using it as a power source in order to save the remainder of arcane magic that was.

empathy isn’t a positive emotion. I don’t think fel kills the capability to find joy, that sounds more like death itself.

You’re right. That part with emotion was necromancy and empathy itself isn’t a emotion. my bad

But empathy is indeed supressed by Fel-magic.

Hun, in a world where Lightforged Draenei Warlocks exist, Blood Elf Shadow Priests are absolutely canon.

I think this is a result of perception around the apparent unification to defeat common existential threats. When an alliance character is asked to click on a horde NPC to accept the next quest, as their leaders stand side-by-side, hearing a blood elf say, “Death to all who oppose us!” doesn’t have the same impact. We need to get back to faction-centrism.

They at least had a little lore excerpt explaining or addressing Draenei warlocks.
Blood Elf Shadowpriests have had zero since being told any who dabble with the void are a nope amongst their kind.

So no, they’re NOT ‘Absolutely’ canon – They’re merely conveniently playable.
— Not to mention there’s lots of things in-game that aren’t canon in the story too, so take that as you will.

They still drink blood. What else has changed?

Lightforged draenei warlocks is pretty strange, the eredar draenei warlocks are fine though.

My Pally had shield spikes on a shield which spread a disease when hit. I miss the good old days.
