No, it has never been shown before. And any interactions between Blood Elves and High Elves have been standoff-ish. The last scenario with High Elves has been with the ALliance and that was when they were helping us fight the Horde.
There’s nothing to suggest they’re migrating back to Silvermoon to be with the Horde and their Blood Elf kin.
Those blue-eyed Blood Elves are still Blood Elves. It’s not the eye colour that defines a High Elf being a High Elf.
Eh, they’re all high elves, name or not. I rather doubt Lor’themar’s gunna be too picky on what an individual calls themselves if they live in Quel’thalas. There’s been positive interactions between the different groups which means inroads to reconciliation are there.
Blue eyes has been a long time coming and a great addition, now we can showcase our long history and variety!
This is just simply untrue, blood elves and High elves have many positive interactions with each other. The fact that the Blood elves even allow the high elves access to the Sunwell regardless of political affiliation is pretty strong testament to this. It’s not to say that certain groups do not hold different opinions, but definitely not a certainty.
Auric Sunchaser at the Sunwell is a high elf we see preaching unification between the Blood elves anf high elves, referring to them collectively as all “Children of Silvermoon” and that they should all rally together behind the weilder of the Blood elf wielding their King’s blade.
The Devs also said that these customization options were to allow players to pick visual themes that reflect different walks of life their race have made regardless of what quest text says. Adding blue eyes to blood elf was to reflect High elf themes for Blood elves in the same way the blue tattoos for Dwarves is meant to reflect the Wildhammer.
this really was only shown among the dalaran community between vereesa and aethas. the leader of the tiny SC herself even contemplated joining the horde just prior to WoD. vereesa and halduron are clearly very close. we saw them defend quel’thalas together from the amani in cata and in legion they were shown to be working side by side and even joined the unseen path together. in the 3 sisters comic vereesa again expressed her wish for her people to be reunited and with the faction war going on the back buner whats the point of this political divide still?
just do an auric with vereesa and fold her SC back into the farstriders
there was context for this. jaina kicked out the sunreaver citizens and brought dalaran into the alliance. then in legion, dalaran went back to being neutral and allowed the horde back in. thats why the SC are and will continue to be absent for the alliance and they are still just a tiny political reactionary group of a playable horde race
Out of the customizations shown so far, what is everyone’s favorite? And what are you going to use on your character(s)?
I think I’m going to make this character a bit tanner and tinker around with the hair colors. Debating on using the https://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/screenshots/normal/921950.jpg eye set up if there’s a one gold one blue option, we shall see!
“Quel’delar is not held in high regards by Sin’dorei alone. It holds a place in a place in the heart of all children of Silvermoon.”, is the full quote. He’s specifically making a point to not refer to High Elves and himself as Sin’dorei.
And the context to him saying they want to work together is for vengeance against the Scourge that destroyed their people. “Now is the time to rally behind the bearer of Quel’delar and avenge the destruction of Silvermoon and the Sunwell.”–He says that regardless of who gets the sword. Orc, Human, Gnome. He doesn’t allude to High Elves and Blood Elves unifying for anything other than fighting the scourge.
Right before that, the Sin’dorei are quite happy to accuse the Auric of foul play for Lor’themar being an idiot, calling him a traitor and getting their armed guards to surround him.
Lor’themar respects this rite of passage. It’s not even his Sunwell to make the rules for, it’s every thalassians. He gives Alleria, a proper enemy of Silvermoon, a chance to visit it despite Rommath protesting the idea.
And at the last scenario with the Sunwell, we couldn’t even see any High Elves there.
Other than the Sunwell scenario in WoTLK, we’ve seen no other friendly scenarios of the two groups of thalassians interacting with each other. Silver Covenant has been purging them from DAlaran, they’ve been fighting at Thunder of Isles, Horde been attacking High Elves since before WoTLK and now in BfA, they’re helping Alliance fight the Horde and Blood Elves.
It could just simply be the Blood Elves losing their fel taint? It’s not that wild. I highly doubt the High Elves are going to betray the very people that have been keeping them safe from both the Blood Elves and the Horde.
All the race customizations that are available so far give me a lot of hope, not just for BE but everyone, they really seem to be putting them to good use and giving people a lot of things they wanted without making a whole new AR.
I am really really hoping for some more facial hair options for well every male but BE in particular. I’m sure they won’t leave them hanging since this is just a small peek~
One of the big things that sometimes puts me off my male blood elf character is the lack of facial hair. Seeing Lor’themar’s new model just makes it WORSE.
I agree with the rest, they’re really doing a good job of giving a lot of much desired options and a lot of variety even within that and I can’t wait to see the other races and their options. Super excited to see what tauren get!
ah Well…I’m really not sorry but it looks like alliance already got as close to high elves as they’re going to get. At least that’s how it is now. I do hope after give you guys a Blood/High elf and Blood Elf look-a-like they won’t double down and give you another one.
Thanks for you not being against Blood Elves getting blue eyes though! Much appreciated.
. . . you presume much, eyes don’t make high elves high elves, and with the way some folks are acting for something that HASN’T EVEN BEEN CONFIRMED YET makes me sick. Honestly if I ran Blizzard and saw the way some folks were acting over this I’d double back and remove blue eyes from blood elves period . . . its the Mag’har complaints all over again only back then people got whiny that they were alternate draenor mag’har and not outland ones.
i hope purple eyes and tattoos are data mined in the next alpha build. not just farstrider tats but the runic tattoos like the one on the blood elf in TBC box art
You asked a loaded question, no presuming going on with that.
Yeah…it makes me sick too seeing helfers getting their panties in a bunch over the possibility of Blood Elves getting blue eyes.
. . . this is starting to feel like debating with a brick wall . . . think I’m done here. I leave off by saying never count a race out when they have a strong case storywise, whether it be high elves, ogres, hozen, or any of the other races that seem to draw the ire of folk on these forums
though i’d like high or half elves for alliance, i am quite happy to see players receive more options. what worries me, as a void elf, though it soon wont matter, is the small box i’m already in because i can only use purples, blues or grays. this means limited options if and when, the allied races get their own customizations. it feels kinda cramped, almost as bad as my nightborne.
there are many options i cant access because they’re already belf options.
