Blood Elf Celebration Thread

Kalec also is canonically a half elf in humanoid form and the first guardian is also a half elf. Both use a human model.

shrug

Just saying they could go the route of ear modification if they wanted to add that… Like different troll tribes or Wildhammer.

I don’t really get the gripe about the skin tones really, more customization is good and overall it’s nice for some variety. Times change and it’s fun having the choice to mix and match what we’d like to make our characters!

Some folk don’t like to accept that change is the way things are.

Others don’t like seeing certain skin tones for some reason…

Who is to know but they themselves.

Customization in a video game is always wonderful. More options are always better than less options, and overkill is always better than underkill.

I like the skin tones and am changing mine to the more sallow toned one. And there is black hair. It’s on Wowhead.

I think my tone is remaining the same.

Though I’m likely to change my high elf spy sent to the Horde by SI:7.

Want to try the darker tones.

That’s actually a pretty cool story, I didn’t even think of that myself.

Thank you.

I thought, hey high elves as I want to play them (alliance side) are unlikely but with the new customizations I CAN still play one… Just gotta be creative.

That said I love all five of my current blood elves. I also love my void elf. So far I’m quite happy with the new stuff.

You should make a guild on the Horde side called SI:7 and only recruit high elves >.<

Oh, don’t tempt me!

I’ve already thought about it several times. Lol

Also let’s be fair. We can add in goblins too.

True, goblins are pretty nefarious.

I have an old guild named “Highvale” that I usually use for storage, and now I wonder if I should resurrect it.

It’s not ‘lore-breaking’.
Imagine thinking the lore is even that important. Imagine believing the creators of the game aren’t good enough to write in more options. Imagine thinking that it has to be political instead of just being inclusive.
All the complaints from people who dont’ like the new skin color options for Blood elves just come off flat like sour grapes.

It’s really just being something that gives more variety and options for people to play and be happy. They’re doing this in spades with all races which is going to make people excited about their own characters while giving inspiration for new ones.

It’s going to be great for roleplay even if it’s just your own personal fiction of who that character is and what they’ve done.

Exactly. Nothing they’ve done flies in the face of any of the lore, and even if it did, its their world, they can change it as they see fit. Hell they’ve retconned major parts of the lore in the past. The Draenei alone are proof of that.

I already have so many stories ready and rarin to go. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t understand where the dislike of these options come from and it’s sad to see.

Why are you asking to have Human options when you’re already getting so much from the art team and made a big stink about faction lines blurring?

Human options should stay with Humans, Blood Elf options should stay with Blood Elves. Right now Alliance are the faction that need prettier and sexier options because so far it looks like only the Blood Elves are getting that and already more people play Blood Elves than they do the two prettiest races on the Alliance.

Every thread is BECT. I shudder at how colorless and miserable they’d be without us. :confounded:

I can understand others thinking it might be ‘sad’. I just think some of the complaints come from the same motives that I have no respect for. Unless people state specifically their real reasons it’s impossible to know. But some of them use the same buzzwords and toss ‘SJW’ around like it’s a bad thing. See it all the time here and it’s out there in other places only with more vitriol.
oo…I"m kind of off topic. :crying_cat_face:

Yeah I’m not a fan of bashing the new diversity options, all the new customizations are a welcomed addition, and I hope more people are supportive and happy for others getting things in game they find enjoyable. I dislike the this thread is a bit about High Elves on Alliance, both the people using the new things to wave around and directly talk about Alliance HE fans, and the HE fans who are coming in to pick apart the new Blood Elf options.

This is a Blood Elf celebration thread? And specifically choosing the new skin tone options to complain about isn’t cool especially.

I’d mostly just ignore the skin tone complaints as it’s a really weird thing to focus on for something so basic and innocent being added. Not worth the time, you know?

Which is the entire point of all these new additions for all the races and why it’s time to celebrate all the new additions. More player and NPC variety let’s everyone enjoy wow on a deeper level no matter how into the lore you are or not.

Want to be a Wildhammer? You can, and maybe you think hey I was born an Ironforge dwarf but did something to get adopted into the clan since you’re free to take that angle. Maybe you’re an undead who hasn’t decayed since you were more newly raised…or they found some way to magically preserve your body before the rot of death set in! Maybe…you stole that skin :open_mouth:

I know I’m excited for the eye and skin color changes especially since it gels with the idea I have for my blood elf rogue. He’s as often away from Quel’thalas on a ship taking mercenary jobs off Stranglethorn so his eyes would be as blue as ocean and he’d have a darker complexion that showed his family’s long nautical tradition. Some of which probably was legal, haha. He’s one of a band of misfits with members from both factions.

These new options open the flood gates even wider and this is the kinda stuff I live for.

You’re probably right.

Which is amazing. I cannot wait to see what I can do.

This here is a sticking point for me. I don’t think they should add races this way.

Wildhammer, forest trolls, sand trolls, frost trolls even dark trolls. If Darkspear and zandalari have their own racials and Bronzebeard and Dark Iron Dwarves have their own racials then so should the others.

They’re races not some colorarion of troll or dwarf.

So many options are being made manifest, it’s very good.
