Finally, dwarf women get beards. All is right in the universe.

The epic edition gives you 3 days early access to the expac… that feels new for WoW.

I didn’t. So I guess now it’s sixteen years and then it’ll be seventeen and eighteen and eventually the servers will shut down and it will have still never dropped. And just to rub salt in the wound the last run on my last character before the event ended, it dropped for someone else.

I don’t even plan on using the mount if it does ever drop, it’s too low res now. But I just want it because at this point it’s the principle of the damn thing.

I’m just excited to know they’ve actually got a plan this time. As opposed to the BS that was Death Thanos

I’m more hyped than I was for DF. Midnight in particular intrigues me, I’m a big Thalassian fan. My mind isn’t blown, but I find myself intrigued. That’s a good sign at least

Also it was nice to see Metzen back on stage again. That was a nostalgia hit

Can I get a recap of everything that’s been announced so far? I’ve been at work all day and the stream was just a Rumble commercial that I had no interest in.

Felt like Azeroth calling out was a bit of FFXIV vibes, not in a bad way, and a bit of Dune music influence when they look at the sword.

I think a lot of us would have liked it if Anduin stabbed thrall but you can’t win 'em all.

Somebody give Anduin a hug already.

They are doing a “saga” of three expansions that will release faster than normal, but no specifics on how fast that might be.

The first one is “The War Within”, about some mystery going on underground that involves the big dumb sword in Silithus and Azeroth’s world soul. Playable Earthen dwarves, “delves” (Niffin treasureseeking scenarios on steroids, I presume), some Nerubian storyline, “Hero Talents” that flavor your class in some special way, and “warbands” which will unite a bunch of things for your alts for account-wide progression (banks, renown, reputation).

After that is “Midnight”, which is about Quel’thalas, elves, and Light vs. Void.

The final expansion is “The Last Titan”, which will focus on going back to Northrend and Ulduar.

Kid’s being a bit melodramatic tbh. Like what did he do? Mostly he went blue and followed Mr Death Nipples around some weird death realms.

Come to think of it, being forced to hang around WoW’s lamest villain for an extended period of time is probably traumatic in and of itself.

Roll down for the WoW stuff:

TL:DR, basically got the Forsaken treatment.

Got shoved into the back of his own mind and got to watch, fully conscious, as his body was puppeted to attack the people he cared about and nearly end all of creation itself.

Interesting to note that shalamayne no longer has the glow to it. Anduin no longer can call upon the Light because he’s lost faith in everything. It is one of those rare moments in WoW where that heroic scene of Anduin walking into the Maw to try and find himself again failed and the person we meet now is so completely broken that they’re back to square 1 and can’t seem to move forwards again.

I swear to Grubbins, I better get to give Anduin all of the hugs. He looks like he needs it. Literally everything he has done has resulted in either atrocities committed by those who took advantage of his altruism or being blamed for not being hawkish enough to ‘end’ the war, despite the fact that would end in even more atrocities.

Oh I know. I’m being a bit facetious tbh. In all seriousness I’m keen to see how they bring him back and help him reconcile his brutal forced identity change

I’m growing cynical in my old age haha

Horde dwarves confirmed :0

I know, its one of the things that comes up in therapy.

There are times to bludgeon that little voice back down into its crevasse and other times to listen to it. Its learning when that is the hardest part.

I am honestly not sure how to feel about this. That said, if it leans to the Fogsail Pirates officially joining the Horde as well, let’sa go.

Announcing a long term “arc” is different, but… the first part of this arc seems very content-sparse. Like hell yeah I wanna get some kinda Quel’thalas revamp but that is not coming in this expansion, so it is just an announcement of intent which we might see two or three years from now?

Maybe they will announce more for the first part of this trilogy over the weekend, but “new zones and dwarf reskin” is not a lot. I like dwarves and all but c’mon, BfA didn’t announce “dark iron dwarves and nothing else” as a big new feature.

Though it is true that some really cool customizations like Eredar have come just as patches so I don’t really mind if there are more allied races and stuff added slowly rather than as expansion-specific content. But idk if that is a plan, so this particular announcement didn’t appear to have a lot.

The “warbands” idea is what I’m most interested in hearing more about. If it is just account-wide rep that is great on its own, but they showed a little camp with (presumably) your alts hanging out together, so if this went beyond just making something account wide and allowed me to manage a little settlement of alts or otherwise change up how we interact with alts that’d be really cool.

My first reaction to a ‘three expansion arc’ is ‘I hope it’s not like Starcraft 2 where the start is good and then it just declines in quality’ the next two.

It will probably be more like Destiny, where kind of okay content grinds will be punctuated by cool cinematic moments that involve everyone but you. And also will just decline in quality.

feasts heartily on the tears of people who will never get player housing

Cries in ESO and Conan Exiles

I am excited for the traditional Q&A ritual where someone asks about player housing and they say how neat and how wanted player housing would be and how they’re not doing it
