Blizzcon thread

Blizzcon starts in a few hours, please deposit your last minute predictions. Or wait a little bit and react to things. Thanks

There have been a lot of Dwarfy and Titan related “leaks and rumors” and while I would be thrilled about that, the general response from others has been lukewarm at best.

If this is really the theme of the next expac, I hope Blizz is bringing a lot of content because not too many people seem into it.

I predict some cool hats, because Blizz always delivers on cool hats.

I feel like once again they will throw us something we didn’t ask for and no one really wanted, but they think we do.

I am trying to temper my excitement because I don’t want to be sitting here going OMGTHISISIT, only to say 20 minutes later…“This is it?”

ETA: My “hey it would be neat if we could get this” item would be Frostborn Dwarves as a skin. Doesn’t need to be an AR, just an additional skin.

Faction war.

Baine goes nuts.

Dwarves targeted.

Translates into Titan shenanigans.

Final answer.

I’m predicting some goblin content, any goblin content, please. Like a new mechanical mount or a new racial that replaces the useless rocket blast.

I also think we will get a new PvP zone or PvP zone objective.

Additionally, no allied races, no new classes, and no class restriction changes.

I’m predicting another mount that uses the vigor system but it is for something other than flying.

Finally, the seeds of war shall be sown once more. The Alliance is going to finally grow a pair and attack the Horde, who will retaliate with unleashed rage. The Kor’kron shall be reborn as a drastic measure, and the brutality shall be unprecedented.

I’m expecting to score 0/5 on these predictions.

This one is resonating with me the most. Dragonriding is far and away the biggest success of Dragonflight and Blizzard never met a mildly successful concept they weren’t ready to run into the ground.

Agreed, but the Alliance’s “attack” is going to be the equivalent of Magni forgetting to invite Baine to Applebee’s for a group dinner and the Horde’s “retaliation” will be to create a machine that burns orphans for power to crush orphans.

I’m waiting patiently, but I’ll be at work when the stream starts. I don’t expect to be super excited. I present to you my list of things I want but don’t expect to see:

  • player and guild housing
  • toggle removal of faction/language barriers so we can cross faction RP without elixirs and guard attacks
  • dyeable transmog
  • removing all restrictions from transmog so my warrior can fight in a dress
  • lore for gnomes, goblins, trolls and tauren
  • Rebuild Lordaeron, kthx

I’m not sure which of these is the more unrealistic dream.

I’m betting hard against the player housing. We’ll get lore before we get housing. I’d put down cash on that bet.

A riot. I predict a riot.

I will instead post a few things I WANT.

Old world revamp.
Removal of race/class restrictions.
Chromie revamp allowing for old world without Cataclysm, streamlined access to experience xpacs in order and removal of being booted from Chromie when hitting level cap.
New player experience no longer dropping them in later expansion and driving most of them out of the game.
An actual story that isnt having us chase an ever more powerful immortal.

Forgetting to invite your friend to the weekly applebees-after-dinner-get-plastered-party is completely unacceptable and while orphan annihilation does stretch towards the extreme side, I can sympathize with the motive. The Horde would be justified in whatever it did.

Man that’s all I want.
I don’t care about any new races, classes, class restrictions, customization, etc etc.
But give me some Orcs, Humans doing Karate over a piece of land and I’m happy as all hell.

Been playing the Reforged RTS again and it just sinks in how much I just miss the “feeling” of the older Warcraft franchise.

I reallllllly hate to say it. But the later.

We need MoP again. Just an entire zone of peaceful depressed villagers getting squandered by the PvP incursion.

It’s weird because the Tauren, Gnomes, Trolls and Goblins all had considerable lore boosts in Legion and Battle for Azeroth. Those lore boosts just happened to be about other versions of them and not the faction as a whole.

We need MoP again. Just an entire zone of peaceful depressed villagers getting squandered by the PvP incursion.

I think about why we ended up with Dragonflight when we had this. Mists was full of tranquility and meditations about life, but also had conflict and kept the soul of Warcraft. Whereas Dragonflight has us watching centaurs recycle vaguely online stereotypes and holding hands.

What I actually do expect:

  • Welcome to Microsoft overlords
  • Bringing everything they possibly can to console and phones
  • Mini games

What do you guys think your favorite world of warcraft character would order at Applebees®?

I personally think Jaina is probably a Riblet kind of gal and Velen obviously goes for the Neighborhood Nachos

I’m still holding out hope for pirates…

I feel like that’s even less likely than player housing :frowning:

But a nautical expac with boat mounts would be nifty. Especially with shanties.

I love dwarves and I think it would be dope to have dorf themed expansion.
I dont care what other people think, other people are the reason this game is in the state that it is.

Toshley would not go to Applebees. He’d go to a local diner and order a greasy burger with fries and a shake.

I am with you on the Dwarves, but I do care what people think at this point in the lifetime span of WoW. We are at 20 years. Making a niche expansion that many players would not be interested in is probably not a smart business move.

Give me a big cup of Dwarf goodness with something else for everyone else to enjoy and I’m happy enough.
